Madigan Jane Cotterill is a Toronto-based journalist, editor and photographer whose work focuses on sustainable travel, the environment and wildlife through visual storytelling. Currently the digital and travel editor at Canadian Geographic, Madigan specializes in conservation-driven narratives that explore how people connect with wild places. She holds a BA from the University of Guelph and a Master of Journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University.

Madigan has reported on assignment with Photographers Without Borders and her work has appeared in Toronto Life, Explore Magazine, Canadian Wildlife Magazine and Canadian Geographic. When she’s not editing stories or behind the lens, she’s likely somewhere outdoors, hiking, climbing, or chasing her next summit.
