DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The fastest week of the year February 14-22 will be here before you know it! Budweiser Speedweeks 2015 at Daytona International Speedway kicks off February 14 with a race among races! The “Daytona Rising Escalator Duel!” You heard correctly. Before the Lucas Oil 200 ignites the atmosphere and the Sprint Unlimited NASCAR stars race for the cash, a showdown of vertical proportions will be had.
In this media only event, the escalator duel pits NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Austin Dillon and Richard Childress, owner of Richard Childress Racing, in a challenge to celebrate getting to the top of the new 150-foot grandstand. For some, attending Budweiser Speedweeks will be an opportunity to see firsthand the $400-million DAYTONA Rising project and a chance to be a part of history.
“Nothing says we love racing more than Budweiser Speedweeks 2015 starting on Valentines' Day!” said Tom Caradonio, executive director of the Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. “It's a great time to be here, to enjoy the beautiful weather and to get an up-close look at the $400 million being invested in 'The World Center of Racing.'”
