Innovative MICE with a Sustainable Edge at The Mira Hong Kong

The Mira Hong Kong

January 2015, Hong Kong: Celebrating style as the core of its substance,tech-friendly design hotel pioneer located in Hong Kong's business and entertainment hotspot, Tsim Sha Tsui, presents playful and inspiring concepts for MICE planners and event organisers embracing the work-life balance motto “Take a Break, Get Inspired”, now with a sustainable edge.

Creatively infusing edgy and out of the box service concepts by sourcing inspirations from local flavors, The Mira Hong Kong challenges event planners and corporate clients to take a break from the day-to-day business routine by offering informal setting for sparking up new ideas and stimulate interaction with seven thematic coffee breaks where delegates experience legendary Hong Kong street snacks in a transplanted street food stall setting, surprising desserts hang from the trees and energizing cocktails are served in “light bulbs”. Juxtaposed with the conference environment is also the newest “Morning Orchard” buffet breakfast setup, as well as three new exciting breakfast sets to choose from for smaller groups and meetings.

Adding to the innovative, 21 century in-room solutions such as complimentary smartphones with free IDD calls to 25 countries and free 3G Wi-Fi connectivity for use on the go, most recently the hotel took another leap forward in the green direction with luxury design and style in focus, by adding an eco-friendly “car of the year” to its limousine fleet. The award-winning Tesla Model S with zero greenhouse gasses or noise emissions serves as another electrifying enhancement to overall guest experience.

Inspiring Thematic Coffee Breaks & Launch of New Breakfast Setups

“The Mira Hong Kong's event space was designed to be a playground for businesses. As an individual property with latest technology in place, for over a year now we have been successfully offering a service concept that is equally playful and unique,” commented Gerhard Aicher, General Manager at The Mira Hong Kong, summarizing the result of the launch of new thematic coffee breaks in early 2014. “Part of Mira-velous Conference Initiativesdesigned to suit unique needs, tease the senses, stimulate creativity for brainstorming sessions, and differentiate the overall conference experience from our competitors, the addition of thematic breaks and overwhelmingly positive feedback from the MICE clients prompted us to also take a step further the breakfast experience that is often overlooked or neglected by the industry. This approach reflects our brand's core values of constantly reinventing ourselves, setting new hospitality trends in the region and catering to the needs of fast-paced urban travelers who are design and tech-savvy, and always on a lookout for unique experiences.”

The fresh “Morning Orchard” buffet setup involves a dedicated space with rustic display of continental breakfast essentials such as selection of freshly baked pastries, fresh fruit, cereals and homemade oatmeal, all gathered under a full size apple tree. “Set against the stunning backdrop of the green Kowloon Park and dramatic city skyline seen from the penthouse ballroom, the first impression of the event is set with a joyful and fresh breakfast surprise,” says Director of Sales & Marketing of the hotel, Ms. Eva Kwan. For smaller groups, new breakfast sets at HK$350 per person – American, Chinese and Continental - include invigorating delights such as juicy shooters, local specialties such as Hong Kong Butter Cream Bun and gourmet Truffled Scrambled Eggs on French Toast.

For relaxing, interactive and fun intermissions during a meeting day The Mira Hong Kong invites to take a break with one of the seven themes, each with its completely unique presentation, which can be setup within the impressively versatile event space, transforming the hotel into an informal playground.

1)     Michelin Recommended Yum Cha Bites - Signature dim sum created by master chefs of Michelin recommended Cuisine Cuisine with a nostalgic nod towards the old Canton traditions. Pick from Hong Kong's specialty tid-bits such as Ha Gao, or Cold Crystal Pork Meat and Cucumber with Home-made X.O Sauce, all served with a contemporary twist.

2)     Chic Sensation - Chic, multisensory delights creatively shaped and served with discerning sophistications. Expect most stylish glassware and creative cabinets bursting with global flavors from fancy Japanese rolls and black caviar cones to desserts hanging from the tree, such as Stimulating Citrus Calamansi Curd in Crispy Baskets or Refreshing Pop Marshmallows.

3)     Fashion Plate - Is it designer's studio or a catwalk? Fashion Plate break is all about couturier details of hand crafted desserts and savories. Taste the Leather Jacket - Peking duck wrapped in delicate pancake - or fizzy, spicy espelette pepper lollipops “Oh là là” clipped to a wardrobe hanger that will surprise every demanding fashionista.

4)     COCO Creation - Afternoon tea is as much of a royal institution in Hong Kong as it is in London. At The Mira, it gets a stylish and playful makeover with COCO's signature designer cupcakes and other pastry gems, chocolate fountain, as well as savory canapés on home-baked colorful breads.

5)     Urban Hong Kong - Traditional Hong Kong “street” snacks are a culture of its own. For safety reasons the stinky tofu was left out but all the other local favorites are there served the way they meant to be, including Curry Fish Balls on a Bamboo Stick, Hong Kong Egg Waffles, Macau Egg Tarts and Mango Pudding.

6)     Feel Electric - It's a pre-taste of nightlife vibes Hong Kong delivers. Bring some fresh air to your event with Arancini with Electric Tempura Enoki and Fizzy Yuzu-vodka Tart inspired with most electrifying open-air lounge famed for tapas style platters and exotic snacks. Energizing drinks sipped out of the “light bulbs” will surely help to spark new ideas for the rest of event.

7)     Out & Uplifted - Imagine spa for your taste buds in an outdoor setting recreated indoors. It's light, it's blissful and it hits the spot. Kick back on comfy rattan pods and dive in Poached Lobster and Salmon with Lily Bulb and Bird's Nest to calm your senses, or vegetarian Halloumi Cheese on Bruschetta with Home-made Date Chutney.

Served upon special request, within the presentation concepts, The Mira Hong Kong offers tempting treats to satisfy all the dietary needs from Vegan, Gluten-free to Halal options.
