
Hentley Farm Restaurant Joins Prestigious International Culinary Association
Barossa Valley, South Australia, 19th November 2014: As Relais & Châteaux launched its 2015 'Taste of the World' guide this week, it was officially announced that Hentley Farm Restaurant had been admitted as the collection's second South Australia member.
Relais & Châteaux board member and Regional Delegate for Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, Mr Jim Carreker (owner of The Louise Barossa Valley), has welcomed nearby Hentley Farm Restaurant owner Keith Hentschke and chef Lachlan Colwill into the membership of more than 530 worldwide restaurants and luxury accommodations offering exceptional culinary destination experiences to global food travellers. Relais & Châteaux is a Paris-based membership-owned network of independent boutique hotels and many of the world's great restaurants. In only a few places worldwide are there a tight cluster of Relais & Châteaux members such as the two restaurants (Hentley Farm and Appellation) and an upscale accommodation (The Louise) as is now available to Relais & Châteaux guests in the Barossa Valley.
The formal notification of Hentley Farm's new membership in the Association has occurred at the Relais & Châteaux “Les Rendez-Vous” global meeting of its members, attended by more than 450 owners, chefs and lifestyle media in Paris. In this 60th year of Relais & Châteaux, International President, Mr Philippe Gombert, praised the youthful team at Hentley Farm Restaurant for “creating a leading example of contemporary regional dining, which will be the delight of visitors to the renowned Barossa wine region.”
Hentley Farm joins Relais & Châteaux members setting a world-class standard of culinary excellence across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, including the renowned Tetsuya's in Sydney and sublime lodge dining experiences as The Louise, Qualia and Jonah's in Australia; Huka Lodge, Otahuna Lodge, Matakauri Lodge, The Farm at Cape Kidnappers, Kauri Lodge and Whare Kea Lodge in New Zealand; Dolphin Island in Fiji and La Taha'a Resort and Spa in Tahiti.
