

Nusa Dua, Bali– The culinary team of The St. Regis Bali Resort is once again triumphant at the Borges Challenge Competition on Saturday 11 October at the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) complex of Nusa Dua. Held annually as part of Nusa Dua Fiesta, the exceptional team from Kayuputi Restaurant, led by Leo Adi Sukma and Cassandra Mellin, edged out teams from other Bali hotels to win the first prize. This is also the third consecutive win by culinary team from Kayuputi Restaurant.
Performed to live audience at the fiesta, this year each team is required to create six varieties of Indonesian sweets using local produce and ingredients in 90 minutes. Judging criteria is based on the authenticity of the ingredients used, the creativity applied during the creation process as well as the taste and presentation of the delicacies. Recipe for each dish must be submitted in writing prior to the competition to the judging panel. The taste of the food will then be judged against the recipes for accuracy and discrepancy.
Double celebration ensued for Team St. Regis, as a second team consisting of Dewa Ari Wijaya and Angga Tama, from Kayuputi and Boneka Restaurants respectively claimed third place for the same competition.
Incepted in 2006, Nusa Dua Fiesta is an annual event for the promotion of tourism in Bali carried out in the elite Nusa Dua Resort compound of ITDC. Now in its ninth year, Nusa Dua Fiesta has emerged as one of 'The Great Tourism Exhibitions' in Bali and Indonesia.
