Bangkok, Thailand -  Thailand's annual Loy Krathong festival is just around the corner, and this year, three Amari properties, Amari Boulevard Bangkok, Amari Vogue Krabi and Amari Phuket, are offering special packages to give guests a chance to join in the beautiful celebration.

Loy Krathong is celebrated during the full moon of the 12th month of the Thai lunar calendar, this year falling on 7 November. Although there are many schools of thought as to why this is celebrated, today, it is believed that releasing the intricately decorated “krathong” is a way to show respect to the water spirits and is a symbolic releasing of negative energy and bad luck. For this occasion, friends, families and couples gather to make their own “krathong”, traditionally constructed using a banana tree trunk as the base and then adorning it with flowers, candles and incense. With a float in hand, each will head to a river, stream or pond to make a wish and release the “krathong”, illuminating the rivers and streams with millions of the candles twinkling under the moonlight.

To give guests a little time to sleep in after the fun, the package gives a guaranteed late check out until 16:00 and free airport transfers.
