Williams-Sonoma returns to its Sonoma roots
Some 60 years after launching his eponymous store that became the place to buy quality cookware, Chuck Williams has brought his store, Williams-Sonoma, back to Sonoma where it all started.
In 1956, Williams bought a little hardware store at 605 Broadway and started importing Le Creuset, along with other French cookware, to sell. He introduced a wide array of pots, pans, and other kitchen items from all over the world. And he revolutionized the way Americans cook.
The Williams- Sonoma retail space, features cooking equipment that Williams first imported and the company still sells. Also onsite is a cooking school that will offer classes and demos for cooks of all ages. A garden patio with a pizza oven and an annex with furniture and home décor for sale round out the complex.
