Michelin-Starred Cantonese Restaurant Ming Court Launches Contemporary New Dishes

Langham Place, Mongkok, Hong Kong's Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant Ming Court, introduces over 20 new dishes on its à la carte menu, showcasing its culinary innovation once again to the city's dining aficionados.

 

Continuing with the fine tradition of serving Michelin-star worthy dishes at Ming Court, new signatures include Wagyu Beef, Foie Gras, Fried Rice Sizzler (HK$288), the Gold with Distinction award-winning dish at the Hong Kong Tourism Board's Best of the Best Culinary Awards 2014, created by culinary rising star, Do Yiu Fung, Ming Court's Fryer No.4, under the helm of Executive Chef Mango Tsang Chiu Lit.  Encased in a hot casserole, the melting, marbled fat from the beef combined with foie gras, accentuates the heady aroma of Shao Xing wine, reflecting the chef's mastery of ingredients and seasoning.

 

Prawn Ensemble (HK$128 per person) is the silver award dish from the Hong Kong Tourism Board's Best Of The Best Culinary Awards 2014.  The dish creatively showcases tiger prawn cooked three ways: Tiger Prawn, Leek, Spring Onion, Fried, Tiger Prawn, Vermicelli, Shao Xing Wine, Steamed and Rice Crisp, Shiitake Mushroom, Shrimp Consommé, each with its own vibrant presentation, fragrant scene and authentic taste.

 

A brand new wellness dish created by Chef Mango, Wagyu Beef Cheek, Aged Tangerine Peel, Braised (HK$108 per person) features the use of Dried Tangerine Peel aged for over 30 years, paired with premium wagyu beef cheek.  With the flavourful and slightly bitter taste of the peel, the dish is warming, wintery and soothing to taste.

 

Other new signature dishes on the menu include Lobster, Yunnan Ham, Silky Egg White, Steamed (HK208 per person), Crisp Baby Pigeon, Roasted, Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice, Spiced Salt (HK$98 each), Deboned Chicken, Swiss Black Garlic Sauce, Rice Cracker, Pan Seared (Half: HK$268 ; Whole: HK$488),  Prawn Wonton, Chive, Dried Flatfish Consommé (HK$108 per person) and Minced Wagyu Beef, Tomato, Garlic, Fried Rice (HK$208).

  

Blending exquisite Cantonese cuisine with innovative wine pairing, Ming Court has been awarded by the world's most prestigious restaurant guide Michelin Hong Kong and Macau, for six consecutive years.  The restaurant profiles a sophisticated, contemporary menu with authentic Cantonese tastes and influences from China, Europe, Australia and Japan.  Many dishes may be paired with wines from 400 labels housed at Ming Cellar, and introduced by the wine team.
