Autumn In Lausanne – Food, Music And Culture Festivals In One Of Switzerland's Most Enchanting Settings

The greens of summer are turning to orange and gold, and there's no better place to be at this time of year than Lausanne, Switzerland's breathtaking Olympic Capital on the shores of stunning Lake Geneva.

This Autumn Lausanne has events to tickle those taste buds (Gastronomia 9th – 12th November), tap those toes to (Metropop 6th – 8th November) and to get that heart racing (Lausanne Marathon 26th October). With so much on offer there is something for everyone from foodie lovers to cultural enthusiasts; Lausanne is a city of many talents.

Here are just a couple of highlights coming up in a region packed full of charm and character:

Lausanne Marathon – Get those legs goingalong the banks of Lake Geneva – what better location for a marathon could there be? Join in the fun and excitement on 26th October – or head to la place de Milan the day before, where a mini-marathon will take place for children from 5 to 14 years old. Be inspired to get active in the Olympic Capital and take a tour of the impressive Olympic Museum where interaction is encouraged and you can discover the history and magic behind the games.

JazzOnze+ Festival – Every Autumn Lausanne plays host to one of the largest and most popular Romand Jazz Festivals. This year the festival will run from28th October – 2nd November at Casino de Montbenon, the line-up for this fabulous festival includes jazz singer-songwriter Dee Dee Bridgewater, saxophonist Charles Lloyd, trumpeter Roy Hargrove and singer Elina Duni.

Metropop Festival – fans of French pop, electro and rock this festival on Lausanne's Docks is for you. This year from 6th – 8th November Lausanne will be pulling the crowds in for their hip urban contemporary music festival.  This year's lineup includes The Orwells, Protoje, Gramatik and Jabberwocky.

Gastronomia – this outstanding trade and food fair for the hotel and restaurant industry celebrates and showcases excellence in restaurant and hotel cuisine. Running from 9th-12th November at Expo Beaulieu Lausanne, it includes demonstrations and competitions for professional chefs and their apprentices.

Music and sport, food and culture: as the days get crisper and the evenings longer, there's plenty to see and do in one of Switzerland's most enchanting settings.

Lausanne Tourism has produced two totally unique and interactive videos to showcase the many different facades of the Olympic Capital. This fun and interactive guide is one of a kind for the city and is aimed at showing people a side to Lausanne that they may not have thought about before. From Leisure to business their new promotional video leaves no stone in Lausanne unturned.
