Grand Prix™ Season Singapore 2024 marks 15th edition with refreshed race-themed programming across Singapore

AUCKLAND, 21 August 2024Grand Prix Season Singapore (GPSS) returns from 13 to 22 September 2024 with a series of race-themed lifestyle experiences across the city. Appealing to individuals of all ages and diverse interests, GPSS complements the FORMULA 1 (F1) Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2024 experience and encourages visitors and locals to discover the myriad offerings across different parts of the city.

Ms Ong Ling Lee, Executive Director, Sports and Wellness, Singapore Tourism Board, said, “In its 15th edition, Grand Prix Season Singapore continues to captivate our visitors and locals with 10 days of race-themed festivities, heightening the buzz of the race season across Singapore. As a key highlight in Singapore's events calendar, GPSS 2024 showcases the diversity of our attractions, dining, entertainment and retail offerings, all of which our visitors and locals can relish.”

This year's GPSS features large-scale activations through four GPSS Headliners at different precincts across Singapore: Groovedriver Festival 2024 at the Singapore Sports Hub in Kallang; Jam Off 2024 at Orchard Road; The Glam Circuit Festival at Kampong Gelam; and CQ @ Clarke Quay x Culture Cartel Presents: Street Style Speedway at Clarke Quay. These will take place alongside offerings by GPSS partners, including new players like Dragonfly Singapore, The Southern Depot, and TRIFECTA.

Groovedriver Festival marks the first time that there will be a 10-day live music and entertainment programming for GPSS taking place at the Singapore Sports Hub. The extensive line-up includes: EuroBeats, with Vengaboys, Snap! and N-Trance; Wipeout, an electronic dance music party featuring Aquagen, Special D., and local DJs such as Inquisitive and Farah Farz; Autorewind, a retro 80-90s pop night led by Johnny Hates Jazz and Tunde from Lighthouse Family, as well as house music presented by Ministry of Sound. Visitors can also look out for performances by singer-songwriters Benjamin Kheng and lullaboy. To enliven the experience further, there will also be a pop-up beach club, automobile showcases, and simulator racing within the iconic venue.

The cross-culture extravaganza, Jam Off 2024, will debut internationally for the first time on Orchard Road, transforming the Somerset Belt – from *SCAPE to 111 Somerset and the Somerset Skate Park – with exciting activities. The main stage at Youth Park will feature performances by Hong Kong artistes PakHo Chau, YT YanTing, Supper Moment, and Indonesia's up-and-coming rapper, RAMENGVRL featuring Kenz. Catch the team and individual street dance battles at the main stage or soak in the racing and street culture atmosphere at the fusion food and beverage (F&B) stands, merchandise pop-ups, and artistes' fan meets.

The Glam Circuit Festival at Kampong Gelam will turn the lively cultural enclave into a race-themed wonderland, set amidst its historical charm. Motorsports fans can look forward to mini motorcycles rides at Sultan Gate Road and simulator racing at Baghdad Street carpark. Music lovers can swing by Sultan Gate Park and Aliwal Street carpark where a music festival programme includes live music competition Glam Voices 2024, as well as homegrown bands and acts such as NADI Singapura, 53A, BUSHMEN and more. Food pitstops featured across Baghdad Street carpark, Sultan Gate Park and Aliwal Street carpark will also add to the celebratory atmosphere with over 30 F&B and 40 retail brands, free-to-public collaborative art with life-sized sustainable cardboard F1 car and art workshops.

An unforgettable fusion of street culture and racing at CQ @ Clarke Quay x Culture Cartel Presents: Street Style Speedway awaits visitors. Street Style Speedway features captivating art installations with local artists transforming car wraps into works of art, with a different visual experience in the evening when artworks are translated into projection mappings on cars. A futuristic Speed Tunnel on Read Bridge will also mesmerise visitors with light projections of dynamic light installations and shows. Shoppers can explore the Limited Edt x Culture Cartel pop-up stores, which will showcase race-themed merchandise from street and lifestyle brands, before ending the night with a captivating Drone Show over Clarke Quay and the Singapore River, accompanied by vibrant music and lights.

New programme partners for this year's GPSS include the newly-opened Dragonfly Singapore, a bar offering a time-limited and GPSS-exclusive cocktail menu; Off The Grid by The Southern Depot, presenting exclusive day-to-night arts, dining, and entertainment experiences, along with race-themed merchandise; and TRIFECTA Race Club's rooftop takeover with pop-up party series GrooveTop, featuring a diverse DJ lineup and music genres, alongside surf and snow challenges and test drives.

Other highlights include tours, art shows, cocktails, gaming and electric karting across the island, from Gillman Barracks and the Civic District, to Sentosa, Dempsey and the Marina precinct.

This year's GPSS will feature four Headliners, taking place at the Singapore Sports Hub, Orchard Road, Kampong Gelam, and Clarke Quay.

GPSS HEADLINERS

Groovedriver Festival 2024 at Singapore Sports Hub, 13 – 22 Sep

Groovedriver Festival is an activation by 8-Beat Collective[1], offering a diverse range of live music, lifestyle experiences, and entertainment. This includes:

  • EuroBeats, with electrifying performances by Vengaboys, Snap! and N-Trance
  • Wipeout, an electronic dance music party featuring international artistes like Aquagen and Special D., and renowned local DJs such as Inquisitive and Farah Farz
  • Autorewind, a retro 80-90s pop night led by artistes Johnny Hates Jazz and singer Tunde from Lighthouse Family

Jam Off 2024 at Orchard Road, 11 – 15 Sep

The street culture extravaganza Jam Off 2024 makes its international debut for the first time during GPSS. From 11 to 15 September, the Somerset Belt – from *SCAPE to 111 Somerset and the Somerset Skate Park – will be filled with experiences including:

  • Main stage at Youth Park, featuring star-studded performances by artistes such as Hong Kong's PakHo Chau, YT YanTing, Supper Moment; Indonesia's up-and-coming rapper, RAMENGVRL featuring Kenz; team and individual street dance battles.
  • A variety of fusion food and beverage (F&B) stands, merchandise pop-ups, artistes' fan meets, and photo opportunities with Instagrammable backdrops. 

The Glam Circuit Festival at Kampong Gelam, 13 – 22 Sep

The Glam Circuit Festival will see Haji Lane, Sultan Gate Park, Aliwal Street carpark and Baghdad Street carpark transform into pitstops of entertainment and adventure, blending the pulse-pounding dynamics of racing with Kampong Gelam's rich heritage.

  • Motorsports enthusiasts can anticipate mini motorcycles rides at Sultan Gate Road and simulator racing at Baghdad Street carpark.
  • The Kampong Gelam Music Festival at Sultan Gate Park will include Glam Voices 2024, a live music competition, as well as homegrown bands and acts such as NADI Singapura, 53A, BUSHMEN and more.
  • The Block Hang-out at Haji Lane will see DJs spinning to electrifying beats.
  • More than 30 F&B and 40 retail brands across Baghdad Street carpark, Sultan Gate Park and Aliwal Street carpark

CQ @ Clarke Quay x Culture Cartel Presents: Street Style Speedway at Clarke Quay, 13 – 22 Sep

Gear up for an unforgettable fusion of street culture and racing at CQ @ Clarke Quay.

  • Limited Edt x Culture Cartel showcasing race-themed merchandise from Limited Edt, Singapore's leading streetwear boutique.
  • Art installation features local artists transforming car wraps into stunning works of art in the day, and projection mappings come nightfall.
  • The Speed Tunnel on Read Bridge will feature daily dynamic race-themed light projections and installations.
  • A Drone Show over Clarke Quay and the Singapore River accompanied by vibrant music and lights.

Embark on a thrilling journey through the rich history of the Singapore Grand Prix at Gallery26, from its early days to its current racing excellence. Experience the roar of engines and marvel at iconic Ferrari F1 cars that have raced through Singapore's streets. An open exhibition of 30 Ferrari cars will also be available. Adding on to this experience is a mini photograph exhibition by award-winning FORMULA 1 photographer Darren Heath, whose vivid colours and artistic angles bring the world of motorsports to life.

Amber Lounge's pop-up ultra lounge GPSS night race afterparty at the heritage site provides a historic backdrop for a night of celebration. Guests will embark on a multi-sensorial journey featuring flowing champagne and cocktails crafted by award-winning bartenders, performances by international music artistes, and appearances by F1™️ drivers and celebrity guests. The evening will end off with world-class theatrical cabaret and cirque-themed performances, set against the breathtaking panoramic views of Marina Bay.

  1. Art in Motion: AI Creatives at the Singapore Night Race, 18 – 24 Sep

The art collective exhibition, Art in Motion, delves deep into the innovative intersections between advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and digital artistry. Featuring Italian and Singaporean artists, this exhibition by Dino Zoli Foundation and DZE Asia aims to explore and showcase the unique ways artists engage with AI, considering the context of the exhilarating F1 Singapore Grand Prix, an event synonymous with speed and technological achievement.

Harry's, in partnership with Razer, Legion of Racers, and supported by Next Level Racing, is hosting an event that unites racing enthusiasts, gamers, and food connoisseurs. This event serves as a convergence point, fostering a sense of community and excitement among fans of racing, gaming, and culinary delights. With minimum spends, patrons will earn tickets to the racing simulator experience. Participants can test their skills on state-of-the-art racing simulators featuring a racing game and compete on the timed race leaderboard for a chance to win prizes.

  1. Levelled Up Racing at HyperDrive, 17 Aug – 15 Sep

HyperDrive is bringing back Levelled Up Racing with Asia's first Game of Karts experience. It takes more than just speed, as the race requires strategic use of collected special powers - 'weapons' to sabotage or 'boosts' to charge across the finish line. Participate in Game of Karts between 17 August and 15 September, and participants with the top 8 fastest lap times advance to the semi-finals, with 3 finalists competing on 18 September for the top prize of an exclusive Red Bull Racing garage tour.

  1. Build Your Own Chocolate Race Car, 1 20 Sep

Mr Bucket Chocolaterie returns this year with a build-your-own chocolate race car and chocolate tasting workshop at Dempsey Hill. Through the workshop, participants will gain hands-on experience working with cacao butter paint, get to build their own chocolate race car, and tour around the chocolate factory led by an in-house facilitator.

Delve into the history of Grand Prix through a series of programmes at the MINT Museum of Toys. The curated programme includes vintage racing toy cars guided tours, racing car craft workshops, retro board games suitable for families, and screening of Grand Prix (1966), a sports drama film at the museum's latest cinematic screening space. Visitors can also savour Hainanese Chicken Rice with rooftop lunch experiences, and Happy Hour where free flow of wines are served.

Experience a unique Night Race Season Tour, which begins in the Kampung Gelam party zone at the historic Sultan Gate, offering a vibrant heritage experience during the year's best party. The tour then continues to the equally lively Little India before concluding near the outskirts of the actual street race circuit, providing a close-up experience within earshot of the race cars. The tour ends at the popular night spot Clarke Quay, offering an exciting blend of sidecars and party zones.

  1. The Grande Whisky Speedfest, 16 – 22 Sep

This distinctive celebration is tailored to captivate both whisky aficionados and motorsport enthusiasts. Guests can indulge in seven exclusive cocktails, each paying homage to the exhilarating race spirit, or test their skills on the racing simulators. Experience an electrifying rave party with high-energy music and dazzling lights, along with a range of interactive carnival games for light-hearted enjoyment. The collaboration with prestigious car brands also presents a stunning display of supercars and an insightful exhibition showcasing their history, evolution, and rare memorabilia.

A new addition to this year's GPSS, Trackside Toasts by local craft beer brewery Pink Blossoms Brewing will offer three exclusive brews, all made with a familiar staple – rice. Visitors can also catch Pink Blossoms Brewing's BeerTruck at Marina Boulevard or participate in their brewery tours, available on 14, 15, 21, and 22 Sep.

  1. TRIFECTA Race Club, 1 – 30 Sep

TRIFECTA Singapore, 10A Exeter Road, Singapore 239958

TRIFECTA will host a rooftop takeover by multi-genre pop-up party series GrooveTop, featuring a line-up of DJs showcasing the city's best creatives and a mix of Funk, Soul, R&B, Hip Hop, Afro, House, and Disco music. An exclusive Volkswagen x TRIFECTA Brunch and Drive Club on 14 and 15 Sep will offer a surf-side brunch experience and test drives of Volkswagen's new models. During the GPSS period, participants can compete in TRIFECTA's Leaderboard Race Challenge, featuring surf, snowboard, and ski speed challenges.
