DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – As summer starts to wind down, visitors to the Daytona Beach area will discover there's still plenty to see, do and experience in a visit to the destination. From 23 miles of pristine beaches to concerts and museums, there are plenty of opportunities this Labor Day Weekend for the entire family.

Daytona Tortugas: The Class A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds, the Daytona Tortugas season runs through Labor Day Weekend at Jackie Robinson Ballpark, one of the oldest parks that is still being used for professional baseball. Relive history in this minor league baseball park where ground-breaking African American baseball player Jackie Robinson played in the first integrated Major League Baseball spring training game in 1946. The Tortugas conclude the season with a home game vs. the Bradenton Marauders on Sept. 2.

Ocean Center: Daytona Beach's multi-purpose convention center and entertainment complex will be busy with a hot event on Labor Day Weekend. Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live Glow Party on August 31 – Sept. 1, which combines Hot Wheels' iconic jumps, stunts, and epic crashing and smashing, will deliver an exhilarating experience for kids of all ages.

Lohman Planetarium 2.0: Week of the Sciences: The Lohman Planetarium has been and will continue to be instrumental in emphasizing the "science" in the Museum of Arts & Sciences, striving to serve as a cornerstone of science, scholarship, and culture in central Florida. With the renovated state-of-the-art Lohman Planetarium as a window into the Universe, visitors of all ages are inspired to look beyond the stars during this, the final week of their summer long program.

Daytona Beach Bandshell: The summer concert series will be in full swing at the historic Daytona Beach Bandshell. Friday and Saturday night concerts are free and reserved VIP tickets can be purchased for $15. Fireworks take place after the Saturday night concerts beginning at 9:45 p.m. On Labor Day Weekend performances include tributes to Tina Turner and Whitney Houston on Friday Aug. 30, and tributes to Def Leppard and AC/DC on Saturday Aug. 31.

Labor Day at Ponce Inlet Lighthouse: On Labor Day at the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse, visitors can enjoy extended hours and family-oriented activities including living history interpretations, hands-on workshops, and crafts for kids. All special activities are provided free of charge with regular admission from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Guests climbing 175 feet to the top of Florida's tallest lighthouse and touring the world-famous lighthouse museum, will discover 250 years of American lighthouse history at one of the nation's largest and most authentic light stations.
