Tampa, FL (July 22, 2024) – With a rich taste that could tempt legendary pirate José Gaspar himself, Visit Tampa Bay, in partnership with Tampa's very own Blind Tiger Coffee Roasters, has unlocked even more precious treasure by introducing a signature coffee, Pirate's Plunder.

Composed of both Ethiopian Heirloom and Bourbon coffee varieties harvested in the winter months, Pirate's Plunder contains notes of citrus, caramel, floral, blackberry, and cocoa to tempt and satisfy coffee lovers looking for a taste of Tampa's distinctive coffee experience. And according to Visit Tampa Bay, the timing couldn't be better.

“Coffee has been an indelible part of Tampa's history alongside as much as the Cuban Sandwich or Devil Crab,” said Santiago C. Corrada, President and CEO of Visit Tampa Bay.  “From the 19th century, when cigar makers sipped café con leche before work, until today when local citizens seek out a variety of coffee-based beverages and foods, Tampa's had a love affair with coffee. And thanks to our partners at Blind Tiger Coffee Roasters, who partnered with us to create Pirate's Plunder, visitors and residents can now enjoy a deliciously roasted coffee at home with a flavor profile distinctly and deliciously indicative of our region.”

Like Pirate's Plunder itself, Blind Tiger Coffee Roasters is a Tampa original. Founded in historic Ybor City in 2014 by Roberto Torres, Blind Tiger was created with the goal of passing on Tampa's powerful coffee legacy of sharing the warmth and richness of great coffee with your family and community on to others.
