LONDON, July 15, 2024—In celebration of National Give Something Away Day, Go City is giving away sightseeing passes to travelers explore the best attractions, tours, and activities in its 25+ destinations all summer long. The “Summer Top Up” campaign goes live on Monday, July 15 at 11 a.m. ET via a pinned post on Go City's Instagram page (@gocity). As part of this 10-week campaign, Go City will be giving away attraction passes to help travelers experience more of a destination—from typical bucket-list landmarks and walking tours, to mind-blowing magic shows, quirky museums, cooking classes, action-packed adventures like jet-skiing, helicopter rides, zip-lining, and more—without breaking the bank.

The Summer Top Up campaign was inspired by Uncle Zach's Big Island Adventure Tour which caught our eye on TikTok (@zachbaumann). In the video, Zach “Uncle Zach” Baumann—a member of the U.S. Air Force stationed in Hawaii, who went broke flying out his four nieces for a family vacation—asks brands for on the ground support in an original song. Since its posting, the video has received more than 460K views and brands like Slowtide, Pride of Maui, DoorDash®, and Southwest Airlines® have joined Go City in helping the Baumann family create unexpected memories this summer. While not everyone can join Uncle Zach's Big Island Adventure Tour, Go City can help families like the Baumann's make their summer vacations as big as they can be by topping up pre-planned trips to one of Go City's 25+ destinations.

Travelers will have five chances to win up to six Go City passes  for their summer vacation:

  • Round 1: Monday, July 15 to Sunday, July 28
  • Round 2: Monday, July 29 to Sunday, August 11
  • Round 3: Monday, August 12 to Sunday, August 25
  • Round 4: Monday, August 26 to Sunday, September 8
  • Round 5: Monday, September 9 to Sunday, September 22

The Baumann family is one of thousands of families that have made sacrifices to be able to go on vacation this summer. While more than a third (36%) of U.S. adults are taking on debt to go on vacation according to Bankrate's Summer Vacation Survey, nearly half (47%) of U.S. adults are forgoing summer vacations entirely with approximately two thirds (65%) of these individuals citing affordability as their primary reason to not travel. Inflation and an increase in the cost of living (housing, insurance, utilities, groceries, etc.) has left families with less money to spend on travel. For those that do travel, the majority (91%) are taking actions to save money while traveling as they're faced with a more expensive trip than last year—per Bankrate, the average cost for a one-week vacation has risen by approximately 26% compared to last year.
