The Widnes Vikings are thrilled to announce the launch of their new team kit for the 2024 season, proudly manufactured by Ellgren. In keeping with tradition, the kit features the iconic black and white colours that are synonymous with the Widnes Vikings.

This year's kit holds special significance as it commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Vikings' legendary 1984 Challenge Cup victory over Wigan at Wembley. The design, dubbed the '40th Anniversary Heritage Shirt', features a distinctive badge at the bottom, celebrating this historic triumph. Adding to the nostalgia, the 2024 home shirt prominently displays the traditional golden town crest with matching gold piping. The year '1984' is also subtly printed into the fabric, making this kit a true collector's item for fans.

In an exciting nod to inclusivity, the Learning Disability Rugby League (LDRL) kits mirror the design of the men's first team kits. These LDRL kits feature separate sponsors: DCBL, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, EMRIS Services, and Visit Halton, who are all dedicated supporters of this important initiative.

Chris Smith, Company Director of Emris Services said: 'I was born and bred in Widnes. When I got involved with Widnes Vikings as a sponsor, I was determined that I would also support the LDRL Team. It's a big boost for me when I see the team smiling and getting so much enjoyment out of it.'

Playing LDRL offers team members a fantastic opportunity to engage in physical activity, build confidence, and form lasting friendships. It's an inclusive sport focused on participation (though the thrill of scoring tries is always a highlight for the players!). Sponsoring these kits is crucial in funding the Widnes Vikings Foundation's sessions at the stadium, promoting inclusivity and community engagement.
