From the Swan River to the slopes, award-winning hotel Aloft Perth is transforming into an interactive ski lodge this winter with grazing boards inspired by the snow snacks of the world, a warming winter cocktail list, and cosy accommodation add-ons to beat the winter blues.
Starting with the two-person Winter Lodge Grazing Board ($52), both guests of the hotel and those just visiting will warm up from the inside out with BBQ glazed pork ribs, buttermilk chicken tenders with fermented red cabbage, baked brie fondue inspired by raclette in the French Alps and crispy potatoes topped with caramelised onion and bacon, Aloft's own take on Canada's famous poutine.
From Aloft's W XYZ bar, warm your hearts and hands with a curated cocktail list designed to keep you toasty:
- Weekend in the Cabin — Cinnamon-infused Grey Goose vodka, WA honey, lemon, shiraz
- Marshmallow Tini — Marshmallow-infused Grey Goose vodka, Aperol, apricot brandy, hazelnut syrup
- Wakeup Call — Bacardi spiced rum, Kahlua, spiced syrup, walnut
- Ski Lift — Bombay gin, chai syrup, apple cider, lemon juice, tonic water
- Fireside Chat — Mulled wine infused with cinnamon, cloves, star anise
The fireplace will burn in the bar all winter, capturing the cosy atmosphere and energy of ski lodges in the 80s — think faux snow, faux fur throws, vintage wooden skis, a replica ski lift and life-like full-size moose amongst the pine trees.
There'll be live music every Friday evening to kick off the weekend, and foosball, ping pong or classic board games available throughout winter.
For the complete ski-lodge experience, take the elevator 'home' and spend the night in one of Aloft's modern suites. Each stay is complete with a plush King bed, winter take-home winter kit (packed with fluffy socks and Whistlers hot chocolate spoons), late check-out and complimentary parking.
