Baillie Lodges Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge, set in the dramatic wilderness of Canada's Vancouver Island, has reopened for the Northern Hemisphere summer season. To celebrate, guests who make a new booking for a 2024 getaway at the luxury basecamp before June 30 this year will receive bonus complimentary return seaplane transfers from Vancouver.
This season Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge welcomes guests with a refined farm-to-table menu from the newly appointed Executive Chef Ben Godin, alongside refurbishments to the on-property restaurant, The Cookhouse, as well as groundbreaking sustainability initiatives.
New to the lodge's culinary program, Clayoquot welcomes Executive Chef Ben Godin for his debut season. Drawing inspiration from the awe-inspiring wilderness of Vancouver Island, Ben delivers a heartfelt interpretation of the sights, scents, and tastes of the region to each guest's table. A keen forager, Chef Ben brings some of the region's rarely sampled, hyper-local ingredients to the menu including Hakurei Turnip, Spruce Tip, Wombo and Fire Morel Mushrooms offering guests a real taste of the Vancouver Island wilderness.
Clayoquot's restaurant, The Cookhouse, has been redesigned with a stylish new look and feel, and the soft renovations feature new furniture, fixtures, and artwork sourced from a local Tofino art gallery, House of Himwitsa, that pays homage to Clayoquot's ties with the local First Nations community. With mesmerising views of the Clayoquot Sound and surrounding wilderness, the revamped Cookhouse invites guests to enjoy contemporary dining created with locally sourced ingredients.
In a significant new sustainability development, Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge has engaged British Columbia-based renewable energy supplier Hakai Energy Solutions to install a state-of-the-art solar and battery microgrid system. The technology will reduce the remote camp's diesel fuel consumption by around 60 per cent each year, while the annual equivalent carbon offset is some 480,000 kg. In addition, the property is excited to offer e-bikes at the property, available for guests to use during their stay.
The team at Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge, led by General Manager Sarah Cruse, is excited to welcome guests back to the property for the 2024 season. Clayoquot guests will enjoy a swag of nature-based adventures from hiking through old-growth forests and horseback riding along scenic trails to submerging in glacial-fed rivers to practice mindfulness and unwinding in the Healing Grounds Spa.
“Every summer we look forward to reopening our doors for discerning travellers, adventure seekers, and wellness fanatics,” Sarah Cruse said.
“Clayoquot offers guests a chance to experience exclusive luxury while enjoying excellent adventures in our incredible natural surroundings.”
