Hyatt Hotel Canberra – A Park Hyatt Hotel launches a modern-day time capsule with a call for stories and memories from the past

Steeped in history, Hyatt Hotel Canberra – A Park Hyatt Hotel is launching a Centenary Stories giveaway to commemorate its 100th anniversary.

Members of the community from near and far are being asked to submit their Hotel Canberra stories with each entry going into the draw to win a Suite Centenary stay valued at $2,900.

Feature and guest stories, including the hotel's storied past and a gallery of images, will be housed on a new and engaging site designed to preserve the history of this Australian hospitality icon for years to come.

The new site will launch on 1 June with stories added throughout the year and shared across the hotel's social media platforms.

Adam Myott, General Manager, Hyatt Hotel Canberra calls the site a modern-day time capsule.

“Rather than burying our history to uncover in years to come, we want to celebrate it now and bring it with us into the future,” Adam says.

For 100 years, the hotel has served as the preferred gathering place and social axis of the Canberra community, touching the lives of many. This is a once-in-a-century opportunity to unravel all its many glorious secrets.

Espionage, political intrigue, high-profile meetings, a century of High Teas, 99 New Year's Eve parties, events, fundraising galas, celebrations and of course, weddings. Intertwined in the storied corridors of Hyatt Hotel Canberra, sits the fabric of our society.

"We want to hear about the little and big moments that made lasting ripples in the lives of our guests. It's in the little details that exceptional can be found and that's what we want to celebrate”.

The Centenary Stories new site serves as a custodian of memories. A collection of moments, history and the very human and joyful experience of hospitality.

Love, politics, parties, dignitaries, delegations and celebrations.

“It's time these walls talked,” says Adam.
