Setting the benchmark for unique stays in unique locations, Heyscape Tiny Cabins is bringing

its premium off-grid and eco-friendly accommodation offering to Perth's (Boorloo) iconic Kings Park and Botanic Garden (Kaarta Koomba) for a limited time only.

At almost 400 hectares, Kings Park is one of the world's largest inner-city parks. It's the first time an accommodation provider has called it “home”.

In an Australian-first, and for a limited time, three Heyscape tiny cabins will be available for overnight stays in some of the most picturesque locations in Kings Park, with two featuring elevated, uninterrupted views of the Swan River (Derbal Yerrigan).  The cabins will be bookable for stays between June 7 to July 28, 2024.

Head of Heyscape Tim Brady says unlike traditional accommodation providers, Heyscape's Tiny Cabins at Kings Park require no ground works. Each employs solar power, compostable odourless toilets, water tank and a waste management scheme to ensure the land is left as it is found.

“We can provide guests with a unique experience in an iconic Perth location, while respecting the surrounding area and leaving minimal impact,” he said.

What to do during your stay?

Kings Park is home to the West Australian Botanic Gardens, which displays more than 3,000 species of the State's unique flora.  Two-thirds of the 400-hectare park is protected as bushland and provides a haven for native biological diversity. The best way to discover this natural wonderland is by foot, e-bike or on a cultural tour.

  • A tiny cabin stay with Heyscape is much more than a place to sleep and dream. The cabins were created as a peaceful corner to retreat to in nature and give people the physical and mental space to recharge and relax. Each cabin will be equipped with 2 Tiller e-bikes for guests to utilise and explore the magic of Kings Park.
  • It's an 8.5-kilometre walk around the perimeter of Kings Park, but there are so many trails throughout to explore. The most popular walk through the Botanic Garden is the Lotterywest Federation Walkway, taking you up into the treetops for one of the best panoramas of the river and city. Allow 40 minutes return.  If you have more time to explore, follow the Lotterywest Federation Walkway to the tranquil Water Garden and Pioneer Women's Memorial Fountain. Allow at least an hour to complete the loop trail.
  • If you're not sure on where to start on your exploration of the park, join a tour. Free guided walks start at the park's information centre at 10am or 1pm every day of the week. Whilst there, collect information about the many other attractions within the park.
  • Learn about the history and culture of Western Australia with an Aboriginal Cultural Tour. Be immersed in the world's oldest living culture, and dive into the history and traditions with the local Noongar people.
  • Take a moment to reconnect with yourself and your surroundings with Mindful in Nature, which practices forest bathing in the Park, giving visitors the opportunity to slow down and relax.
  • For dining with city views head to the Botanic Café or Frasers Restaurant. Alternatively, there are dozens of rooftop, laneway, waterfront and underground venues within a leisurely walk or very short drive away in Perth CBD, Subiaco, Crawley, Northbridge and West Perth.
  • The opening of these tiny cabins also coincides Lightscape – a time when Kings Park comes alive with an incredible display of art, light and sound.
