The South Pacific Tourism Exchange (SPTE) 2024 has come to a triumphant close, leaving a trail of fruitful collaborations, promising partnerships, and boundless opportunities for the future of Pacific tourism. Hosted for the first time in Fiji at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort from 4th to 5th May, this year's event was spectacular, bringing together 68 sellers, 63 buyers, and 8 international media representatives from across the globe. This year's event also surpassed all expectations, setting new benchmarks and redefining what it means to connect, collaborate, and thrive in the dynamic landscape of Pacific tourism.

SPTE 2024 witnessed an unprecedented surge in buyer appointments, marking the highest number in the event's history. With a diverse array of buyers hailing from Europe, America, and other key markets, SPTE 2024 transformed into a one-stop shop for all things Pacific tourism. From the rugged beauty of Papua New Guinea to the tranquil shores of Tonga and the enchanting allure of Tahiti, Buyers had the opportunity to engage with sellers from across the Pacific, all under one roof.

Over two days, stakeholders immersed themselves in a whirlwind of activities, from one-on-one meetings and captivating networking sessions. Sellers seized the opportunity to showcase the diverse array of tourism offerings the Pacific region offers, captivating the attention of renowned international buyers seeking new ventures and collaborations.

With registrations opening on December 19th, 2023, and closing on April 1st, 2024, the anticipation for SPTE 2024 was palpable. Strategic initiatives, such as the 'Early Bird' discount for sellers and the co-hosted buyers program in collaboration with Tourism Fiji, contributed to the event's unprecedented success. The presence of buyers from key markets such as Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Europe, and Asia underscored the global significance of SPTE 2024 as a cornerstone event in the Pacific tourism calendar.
