Known for featuring community news, events and stories from across Tasmania every month, The Hobart Magazine's May edition will give inspiration on how to embrace the upcoming winter season, providing readers with experiences unique to our state's cooler months.
Stephanie Williams, founder and editor of The Hobart Magazine says, “The Hobart Magazine's Off Season edition provides pages of inspiration for Tasmanians to embrace winter, from winter festivals and events to secluded hot tubs, stargazing adventures, thrilling biking trails, heritage adventures and fireside feasts. It's been a pleasure to create this wintery guide in partnership with Tourism Tasmania, drawing upon our passionate and expert local knowledge that has been trusted by Tasmanians since 2018.”
Tourism Tasmania's Off Season campaign represents a large-scale collaboration with the local tourism industry to create uniquely Tasmanian offerings exclusive to the cooler months.
Sarah Clark, CEO, Tourism Tasmania says, “With over 500 distinctive experiences on offer across our state, the Off Season is an opportunity for visitors and locals alike to 'become winter people', embracing a winter holiday like no-where else. With the Tasmanian tourism industry really getting behind the Off Season this year, there really is no better place to be than in Tasmania this winter. We are delighted to partner with The Hobart Magazine to inspire Tasmanians to explore the state this Off Season.”
The edition features Tasmanian locals, creatives and businesses celebrating and embracing the Off Season through a series of feature articles alongside an extensive events calendar. Feature articles include interviews with poet, writer, and bushwalking guide Bert Spinks, Festival of Voices general manager Nadine Rowell, Ghost Rock winemaker Sierra Blair, harpist Emily Sanzaro, and palawa kipli owner and operator Kitana Mansell.
Since it first launched six years ago, The Hobart Magazine has remained a highly regarded and popular part of the Tasmanian independent media landscape. Sharing local stories, people, events and happenings, the publication has grown to incorporate Launceston and beyond and significantly increased its distribution footprint to cover Tasmania's north and south. The Hobart Magazine has over 300 distribution points in Hobart, 75 in Launceston and another 50 locations around the state. It is also delivered direct to homes in Hobart and Launceston via Australia Post, and is available in Hill Street Grocer stores and online at www.thehobartmagazine.com.au.
Now in its fourth year, the Off Season campaign positions Tasmania as a must-do winter destination, focused on driving visitation during the traditionally quieter travel period between May and August.
