Destination Madison Launches New Brand Video:
“With Love, Madison”
In 90 Seconds, Viewers Experience Lake-City-Lake Life Like Never Before
MADISON, WIS. (Tuesday, May 7, 2024) – Destination Madison announced today the premiere of a dynamic new video that highlights the vibe and excitement of the capital city. The video deftly places the Capitol in the heart of the downtown isthmus from a 284-feet view and offers first-person perspectives of the city's urban outdoor adventures and culinary experiences, the latter of which were recently featured on Bravo's “Top Chef.” The video can be viewed here: https://www.visitmadison.com/with-love-madison-video/
“Our exciting brand video speaks to viewers who may not know Madison and equally taps into memories that prior visitors have carved into their minds. This visual love letter from Madison will inspire people around the country to plan a visit every time they press play,” said Ellie Westman Chin, Destination Madison president and CEO. “Our team worked with locals across the board on this project to showcase a true representation of our great city to inspire travel and encourage the growth of our local tourism economy.”
Destination Madison's brand video was created as a collaboration between Destination Madison and Sam Li, the Madison-based cinematographer known for his majestic, sweeping shots, energetic editing style and passion for the destination.
“When I first picked up my camera, the city of Madison quickly became my favorite subject to photograph,” commented Li. “I'd spend entire days just wandering around, capturing little moments that made this place so unique in my mind. When Destination Madison reached out with the idea of creating a hype video for the city, it was a dream come true. Surrounded by an incredibly talented team of marketers and creatives, I finally got to properly showcase this one-of-a-kind destination.”
The project required a full year capturing and editing the piece with one primary goal: helping the viewer get a real feel for Madison. To showcase what makes Madison a unique and wanderlust-worthy destination, the production focuses on never-seen-before points of view and scenery. The video will be used to promote the city in target markets around the nation and free for partners and stakeholders to use at events, in lobbies, for recruitment efforts and more.
To present the authentic (so we don't use the word true twice in one sentence) essence of true Madisonians, Destination Madison launched their first-ever volunteer model database with the goal of featuring real locals in real moments. More than 330 people from all walks of life offered to be featured in this production. The team also collaborated with more than 30 Destination Madison partners to capture the customer experience as well as a behind-the-scenes showcase of local hospitality workers in action.
