Visit Frisco has been tasked with developing a new brand for the city's historic Rail District neighborhood.
The branding project is happening in tandem with the revitalization of the Rail District, one of city council's top priorities for 2024. Development plans include road work, plaza construction, widening sidewalks, and adding parking.
“We're seeing lots of activity in the Rail District, and we're excited to kick off this branding project,” says Cori Powers, Visit Frisco's Director of Marketing and Communications. “We'll be developing a brand that truly encompasses the values and personality of the Rail District and tells its story in a meaningful, memorable way.”
Over the spring and summer months, Visit Frisco will work closely with agency partners to conduct an in-depth discovery of the Rail District, including soliciting feedback from residents, visitors to Frisco, and area business owners via an online survey.
Individuals wishing to participate in the survey and provide their personal insights on the area may do so by visiting https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/friscoraildistrict by May 6.
“We understand the Rail District is an important area to a lot of people, so we want to ensure we're soliciting feedback and responses from as many unique perspectives as possible,” says Powers.
“Ultimately we want the Rail District – and the brand that represents it – to be something everyone in Frisco is excited to share and experience.”
Final deliverables for the branding project will include a brand logo, color palette, typography, and copy guidelines to ensure the Rail District is represented in a cohesive, consistent way across all marketing channels.
The projected timeline has discovery work continuing through the month of May, with creative development happening during the summer, and a brand rollout scheduled for early fall 2024.
The Rail District's planning group, Velocity, recommended Visit Frisco as the entity to champion the branding project during its strategic plan framework and report, which was released last fall.
