New Sydney Central Hotel Managed by The Ascott Limited (Sydney Central) gives visitors the perfect place to stay in the heart of the dynamic and culturally diverse Haymarket, providing easy access to the best dining, shopping and entertainment options that unlock the best of city living.

Sydney Central is nestled along the vibrant thoroughfare of The Goods Line urban walkway. The prime location of Sydney Central allows guests to experience the epitome of urban living, where convenience meets culture, and local adventures are just steps away. Guests are also in the ideal position to embrace the revitalised Sydney events scene, with both the iconic International Convention Centre and Capitol Theatre close by, and should they wish to, start their weekend with a stroll through Chinatown's Friday markets (4-11pm). 

The accommodation mix includes standard, superior and executive rooms. Onsite amenities include a restaurant and bar, a rooftop pool, gym and a 24/7 carpark. The onsite Thomas St Kitchen + Bar provides a range of menu options, plus essentials like breakfast buffet with barista made coffee and in room dining.

With onsite catering available, Sydney Central is the perfect event location with 12 spaces available - including a ballroom - to cater to any cocktail or event function, with capacity for 10-300 people.

“To reinforce Ascott's commitment to offering our guests room to 'live' at every property, not simply a place to stay, Sydney Central will undergo staged renovations, before rebranding the property as Citadines Sydney Central. An additional 72 rooms across 8 floors will be added, and our refurbishment will also include accessible and family suites. Adding a new café along The Goods Line urban walkway will also capitalise on Sydney Central's location.”

Ascott Australia continues to make progress towards a target of more than 30 properties by 2030.

Innovative co-living brand, lyf, will open a 197- key property in Bondi Junction where guests are encouraged to 'live their freedom.' Rapidly growing 'home and beyond' brand Oakwood will open a 72- key aparthotel in Hackney, Adelaide, in late 2024.

The launch of Sydney Central comes off the back of Citadines Connect Sydney Airport (opened 2019) and Citadines Walker North Sydney (opened 2023). Citadines Walker North Sydney will open Bar Lettera, a full-service Italo-Australian restaurant and bar in 2024.
