Sofitel has teamed up with Bernardaud, a French flagship of Limoges porcelain to launch a poetic votive light to add sparkle to your home and night. Invented in 1828, the votive light continues to delight everyone who loves beautiful objects. This traditional engraving technique on thin unglazed bisque porcelain is the trademark of the Maison Bernardaud, with whom Sofitel has created an exceptional and delicate piece, bringing two fields of expertise together in harmony.
Where magic is sparked
Crafted in Limoges, the Sofitel x Bernardaud votive light features the “Cultural Link” symbol, a mixture of intertwining curves that creates an infinite print steeped in magic. This is a true symbol of the bond that connects cultures from all over the world. Immaculately white at first, it transforms into a ball of soft radiance when lit. The candle flame animates the engraved decoration with a subtle interplay of shadow and light.
Sofitel began its Candle Ritual several years ago. It is inspired by Paris in the 1860s, a time when over 56,000 oil lamps illuminated what would later be called the “City of Light.” A unique ceremony, carried out in all the brand's hotels since 2007, it is an authentic journey that leads to wonder, filled with surprises along the way. This warm and rhythmic French philosophy can now be enjoyed in the comfort of your own home for a soothing ambience all year long.
The glowing alliance of two French Maisons of excellence
This unique votive light symbolizes a long-term collaboration between Sofitel and Bernardaud, which will result in the deployment of dinnerware in upcoming Sofitel hotels such as the Sofitel Cotonou Marina Hotel & Spa, the Sofitel Riyadh, and the Sofitel Al Hamra Beach Resort.
