Newmarket Holidays

To mark 75 years since the first non-stop flight across Canada, escorted tour specialist Newmarket Holidays has picked out three exciting ways travellers can see different aspects of the vast country today, all available with savings of up to 15% until 15 March.

SOLO TRAVELLER TOUR OF ROCKIES & LAKE LOUISE

Solo travellers can explore the Canadian Rockies and Lake Louise with Newmarket Holidays' new nine-day group tour that begins in Calgary before heading into the heart of the mountains. Guests spend the next few days exploring snow-covered Banff National Park to enjoy the incredible scenery and wildlife, take a cable car ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain and can take part in optional adventures that include a cowboy-led sleigh tour, a visit to a wolf sanctuary and a helicopter ride over The Rockies. The tour then heads to Johnston Canyon where a short hike takes the group to dramatic waterfalls, before the adventure ends with a night enjoying five-star luxury on the edge of beautiful Lake Louise, which is surrounded by alpine forest and backed by the magnificent Victoria Glacier.

To book: Prices start from £2,790 per person, saving £309 until 15 March, and include seven nights' room-only accommodation, excursions, transfers and return flights to Calgary from London Heathrow, departing 2 December 2024 and 27 January 2025 (https://newmarketholidays.co.uk, 0330 341 1927).

INNER PASSAGE CRUISE & ROCKY MOUNTAINEER

Newmarket Holidays' 16-day tour, Five-Star Alaska Cruise & the Rocky Mountaineer, starts and finishes in Canada, exploring the Rockies and riding on the famous Rocky Mountaineer train from the railroad town of Jasper to Vancouver, following the route of the North Thompson River past Mount Robson, Pyramid Falls and Yellowhead Pass to Kamloops. A second day of breathtaking train travel takes passengers past the mighty Fraser River and the rushing waters of Hell's Gate in Fraser Canyon, before arriving on the coast. Guests then swap carriages for cabins for seven days cruising through Alaska's Inside Passage, with shore excursions that visit the Alaskan capital of Juneau, which is only accessible by air or sea, and where guests can try panning for the gold that helped to build the city. Other land visits include Skagway, the historic gateway to the wild Yukon Territory, followed by a trip to the southernmost settlement of Ketchikan, with the option to add a floatplane trip to the spectacular wilderness of the Misty Fjords National Monument.

To book: Prices start from £5,747 per person, saving £638 until 15 March, and include full-board cruise accommodation, Silverleaf Service on the Rocky Mountaineer, seven nights' room-only hotel accommodation and return flights, with departures in May and September 2025, (https://newmarketholidays.co.uk, 0330 341 1927).

THE MAPLE LEAF TRAIL

Newmarket Holidays' 10-day escorted tour starts with a spray-soaked cruise to the foot of Niagara Falls and then visits four contrasting eastern cities. Guests follow the north shore of Lake Ontario to Toronto, where they can join a guided tour to discover the neighbourhoods that reflect the city's mix of ethnic origins, including Chinatown, Greektown, Little India and Little Italy. The adventure then follows the scenic Maple Leaf Trails to the elegant capital of Ottawa, and then Quebec City, where the New World still resembles the Old. The tour ends at Montreal, French Canada's capital of style.

To book: Prices start from £2,036 per person, saving £359 until 15 March, and include eight-nights' room-only accommodation, transfers and return flights from regional airports across the UK, with departures from May 2024 to October 2025, (https://newmarketholidays.co.uk, 0330 341 1927).
