The National Horseracing Museum's new pooch-friendly Easter Paw-ty in Newmarket on Saturday 30 March is sure to get tails wagging with joy. Here, visitors can expect a host of doggie-themed events throughout the day, including what is thought to be the world's first ever dog-themed Easter Trail.

The entertainment starts at 10.30am with a Pet Blessing, a kind of 'paws for thought' given by the Rev Robert Otule in the Museum's King's Yard.  The Yard is home to the famous statue of Frankel, officially the best racehorse in the world.  Then follows an Easter Trail, which has been tailored for families of all ages including their four-legged family members. Participants will follow the Easter Bunny's tracks from King's Yard, through Rothschild Yard and across the road to Palace House and the gardens, deciphering clues along the way. The free creative activities, all doggie-themed, are bound to send them barking mad with excitement, and there is a chance to meet the Museum's Artist in Residence, Nichola Eddery, renowned for her canine and equine portraiture.

The central focus of the day will be a Fun Dog Show (from 11am) with up to nine classes to enter, offering something for every Rover and their owner. Among them will be the most Handsome Dog, the Waggiest Tail, the Cutest Puppy, the Oldie (over 10 years), Best Child Handler, Musical Sit, Prettiest Bitch, Judges' Favourite and, possibly the most popular of them all, Fancy Dress. Entry to each class is £2 – book on the day.

Admission to the Easter Paw-ty (10am – 4pm) is £5 per adult, with under 16s free, including access to the outside areas of the Museum.  Newmarket is an Accessible Destination.  All dogs must be kept on leads while within the Museum grounds.
