Danish founders Emilie and Aleks share a unique and international journey that laid the foundation for Agora. Emilie's childhood, spent in diverse locales due to her father's medical career, became the canvas for her design inspiration. Aleks, immersed in building Joe & The Juice shops in Norway and later USA, found solace and inspiration in the idea of Agora during a period of stress. Their connection over shared passions for cycling, nature, and active living led them to discover the old derelict hotel that would become Agora.

Emilie's dream of being an interior designer found its realisation in Agora. The absence of formal design training became her strength, allowing an abundance of creativity and limitless possibilities.
