From a superhero tour of New York to winter sun options in Morocco and Lanzarote, many of the new itineraries are perfect for the first school holiday of the year; February half-term. Here are Original Travel's top picks:
USA – NEW YORK
New York, the city of cosmopolitan hustle and bustle, but also a wonderland of attractions for both your youngest child and oldest teen. Although this Big Apple trip is completely customisable to your family's interests, included is a special superhero tour with a local New Yorker, who will walk you in the footsteps of your favourite heroes, with trips to Batman's Gotham City, Clark Kent's Daily Planet, Spider Man's Public Library and the universe of the Fantastic Four and Avengers. Our local Concierge can help you secure tickets for the Summit One Vanderbilt, any of the Broadway shows, trending restaurants, popular attractions and more, so you will have the leisure to enjoy your February half-term stress-free!
Prices from £2000pp, based on four sharing and including flights, transfers and six nights' accommodation in a self-catering apartment. Original Travel, 020 3582 4990, www.originaltravel.co.uk
CANARIES - LANZAROTE
Between the dramatic lava fields in the hills and the picturesque long sandy beaches that line the choppy seas, Lanzarote promises a spectacular natural spectacle. This eight-day adventure with your family is divided into two chapters: coast and countryside. Your first stop is Mácher, a charming agricultural village close to the seaside resorts of Puerto Del Carmen and Playa Blanca. After a few days of coastal exploration, head inland to San Bartolomé, a white-washed town surrounded by rolling hills. Here you'll have the opportunity to go for an exciting guided hike through impressive volcanic landscapes. Along the way you'll be soaking in Canarian culture: admiring colonial architecture, discovering the work of a renowned local artist and sampling the archipelago's delicious cuisine. During your stay, you will venture on an art tour of Lanzarote, visit the Timanfaya National Park to explore the breathtaking volcanic land and head to a sandy beach for a private family surfing lesson.
Original Travel's Wild and Lunar Lanzarote: A Family Getaway to the Canaries is an 8-day trip starting at £1,565pp based on a family of four. Price includes flights, car-hire, a range of activities and 7 nights' B&B and hotel accommodation. Original Travel, 020 3582 4990, www.originaltravel.co.uk
AFRICA – MOROCCO
What better way to explore beautiful Southern Morocco than a family road trip? Starting in Skoura, home to a rich agricultural network of palm and fruit trees, you will travel to Tinejdad and Zagora in the Draa Valley, the wild Erg of Chegaga, then onto Tamegroute and Ouarzazate. Along the way you will go on a series of adventures, such as exploring Skoura by scooter, touring the red limestone canyon of the Todgha Gorge, visiting Mosques for an architectural spectacle, spending the night stargazing in a desert camp on the golden Chegaga Dunes and a stay at the 17th-century Kasbah of Taourirt.
Original Travel's A Road Trip in Southern Morocco is an 8-day trip starting at £2,000pp, based on a family of four. Price including flights, car-rental, private guides, a range of activities and 7-nights' stay in B&B accommodation (including a night at a luxury desert camp).
