Launch of the new electric ferry by Candela into use as public transport in July 2024, Stockholm

Candela has unveiled the Candela P-12 Shuttle, touted as the world's fastest, longest-range, and most energy-efficient electric boat. Primarily designed for public transport, this innovative vessel will operate between the Stockholm suburb of Ekerö and the city center, planned for 2024! With a speed of 30 knots, it surpasses other electric boats, offering faster commuting than traditional subway and bus routes. This electric vessel is not only faster than rush hour car travel but is also significantly more energy-efficient than diesel-powered vessels on the same route. Boasting a long range and zero emissions, the Candela P-12 Shuttle represents a sustainable and efficient leap in marine technology for public transportation.

Candela envisions transforming urban transport in Stockholm with its P-12 Shuttle, aiming to challenge traditional modes of commuting. The electric ship's hydrofoil efficiency allows it to outpace cars and buses during rush hour, offering a cost-effective alternative to new subway lines or highways. Candela proposes replacing large diesel vessels with smaller, faster P-12 Shuttles on the Stockholm-Ekerö route, increasing passenger capacity, reducing operating costs, and enabling frequent departures, ultimately providing commuters with a more flexible and efficient transportation option.https://candela.com/candela-p-12-enables-public-transport-faster-than-cars-and-subway/ https://candela.com/  https://candela.com/p-12-has-taken-flight/

Opening of Maryhill Estate

maryhillestate.com

Countryside bliss with plenty of "cest la vie" vibes - The place where Örenäs Castle is located was once called Maryhill. The story goes that the Lord Mayor August Anderberg bought the plot in 1867 and gave the then-property the name Mariehild after his wife. The next owner, Countess Constance Wachtmeister, French by birth, expanded the park at the end of the 19th century and changed the name to Maryhill. Beautiful, we think. The baroque castle was built in the 1910s by the "Sugar King" Carl Tranchell and his memory will be remembered in the pool club we are building. We say a warm welcome to a new and old story. Västerbotten/Umeå Umeå 2024 - A year of anniversaries at Umeå

Umeå was named the European Capital of Culture 2014, and for good reason. The city has an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit, a number of highly regarded museums and major annual events in music, sports and food. Several of them have upcoming anniversaries in 2024. Here are some of the highlights!

Väven Cultural centre celebrates 10 years

Umeå's buzzing cultural centre and architectural landmark (with its abstract, birch-inspired aesthetic) houses two hotels, the city library, a cinema and several restaurants and cafés. The building hosts events and activities year-round, from concerts to vintage fashion markets. Upstairs, you'll find the first Women's History Museum (Kvinnohistoriskt Museum) in Sweden that inspires action and debate on different themes across “gender and power, identity and history”. https://www.vaven.se/sve

The artwork listen celebrates 5 years

Umeå is the kind of city that chooses to place a work of art against sexual harassment right in the city centre. The reason lies in the city's history, the time now and a progressive look ahead. Listen by Camilla Akraka, a red-painted feline with powerful muscles, is a symbol of the city's work with gender equality and an obvious perspective in sustainable urban development. umea.se visitumea.se/en/equality-umea
