The Slate Phuket Showcases Pop-Up of Designer Eric Raisina until April 2024

The Slate Phuket

As part of its commitment to showcasing emerging artists and designers, The Slate Phuket is hosting a pop-up by acclaimed haute couture textile creator Eric Raisina. Winner of the New Young Talent prize at the Fashion Festival and Textile Competition, Eric studied in Paris and was commissioned to create a bustier for Christian Lacroix's Summer Collection 1997. He is famous for blending African and Asian cultures in one-of-a-kind pieces that showcase innovative design techniques.

The Slate will launch his four-month pop-up with a fashion show on 25th December at Dirty Monsterra, with the pieces to remain on display at The Slate until April 2024.

“Eric Raisina is one of most creative couturiers I have come across in my travels, so we are delighted to collaborate with him to showcase his daring designs to our guests,” said, Krystal Prakaikaew Na-Ranong, The Slate Phuket's owner. “We love putting a spotlight on amazing creatives from the worlds of art, gastronomy and fashion, and Eric's vibrant pieces are sure to captivate visitors to the hotel over the coming months.”

Born in Madagascar, Eric has made Cambodia his home and takes inspiration from the Khmer artisanal silk weaving traditions, colours, and textures of the country. He has created his own new textiles including silk fur and loves to blend his African heritage with the spirit of his adopted country.

Eric says he is excited to bring his latest collection to The Slate.

“It is always exciting to take my designs around the world, and the beauty of The Slate Phuket will perfectly complement the colour and flamboyancy of our designs,” he said. “The Slate is a hotel that pushes boundaries and is one-of-a-kind and my fashion is the same.”

His pieces often incorporate sustainable materials and practices, which is in keeping with The Slate Phuket's commitment to protecting the environment.

You can see his collection on display at The Slate Phuket until April 2024.
