Arizona: Baseball Fans' Paradise 

With the Arizona Diamondbacks competing in the World Series, Arizona hosted three games at Chase Field in downtown Phoenix. Visitors and locals enjoyed exploring downtown's lively restaurants, bars, shops and speakeasies before heading into Chase Field to watch the Dbacks and Texas Rangers compete. Baseball fans should plan to return in spring for 2024 Cactus League Spring Training, when 15 Major League teams will play daily in more than 200 games at 10 ballparks throughout the metro Phoenix area. 

NASCAR Championship Weekend 

The fastest drivers will race during NASCAR Championship Weekend Nov. 3-5 at Phoenix Raceway. Feel the thrill of the race track the entire weekend with a championship race occurring each day leading up to the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race on Sunday, Nov. 5. Fans can be at the center of the race thanks to the FanShield Infield Experience, which provides inside-garage access to the drivers, cars being worked on, interactive activities and exclusive entertainment.  

Phoenix Zoo's New Predator Passage Opens in November

The Phoenix Zoo's newest six-acre expansion, Predator Passage, opens Nov. 20 to allow visitors to help welcome female lions, hyenas, leopards, red river hogs and vultures to their new home. Located within the African Trail, Predator Passage will educate guests about these species and promote the importance of conversation. Join the grand opening Nov. 20-22 to enjoy an African musical instrument station hosted by the Musical Instrument Museum and drum circle workshops in between seeing the animals. Expect to spot meerkats within the Predator Passage in the near future. 

New Seasonal Tours and Experiences at Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West 

New seasonal tours and experiences are available at Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West in Scottsdale. The new Shelters in the Desert Guided Tour takes visitors on a 90-minute hike behind Taliesin West to see the shelters that Wright's apprentices lived in and learn about Wright's passion for architecture being harmonious with the environment. On the Nightfall Guided Tour, experience Wright's winter home after dark to enjoy its evening views. Those who like jazz will enjoy the new TW Live Culture program where live music plays while touring. Explore the new American Icon exhibit to learn more about Wright and Georgia O'Keeffe, a famous architect and friend of Wright. 

New Exhibit at S'edav Va'aki (Pueblo Grande) Museum Explains Its New Name 

The new exhibit What's In Our Name? celebrates the Pueblo Grande Museum's name change to S'edav Va'aki Museum, which was chosen by the museum's tribal partners, the O'odham, whose ancestors previously inhabited the site. The new exhibit will open Nov. 7 and be on display through June 2024. S'edav Va'aki Museum is a 1,500-year-old archaeological site once inhabited by the ancestral Sonoran Desert people where visitors can explore replicated houses and a demonstration garden filled with native crops.

Arizona Recognized in Abercrombie & Kent's List of Destinations to Visit in 2024

Arizona was the only U.S. state that earned a spot on luxury tour operator Abercrombie & Kent's list of the best destinations to visit in 2024. The tour operator highlighted Arizona's diverse experiences, including the Verde Valley wine-growing region, Tucson's thriving culinary scene as the first UNESCO City of Gastronomy, Scottsdale's ongoing sustainability efforts and the new Ambiente hotel in Sedona as reasons to visit, along with exploring the iconic Grand Canyon, Route 66 and Navajo Nation. 

Arizona had the Most Spas Recognized In Condé Nast Traveler's Top 20 Destination Spas in the US 

Five Spas from across Arizona earned recognition in Condé Nast Traveler's Top 20 Destination Spas in the US: 2023 Reader's Choice Awards. The luxurious Mii Amo in Sedona, Canyon Ranch in Tucson, Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa in Tucson, CIVANA Wellness Resort & Spa in Carefree and Castle Hot Springs in Morristown all earn a spot on the list for helping guests find tranquility through their spa treatments and stylish accommodations. 

Phoenix's Chilte Recognized in Bon Appétit's 24 Best New Restaurants of 2023  

Located in the Egyptian Motor Hotel in Phoenix, Chilte earned the distinction as the only Arizona restaurant recognized in Bon Appétit's 24 Best New Restaurants of 2023, earning praise for its experimental Mexican cuisine. Since opening in January 2023, Chilte's rotating menu of new-wave Mexican cuisine such as birria tacos made with squid ink corn tortillas and asada plates with wet aged prime ribeye has made it a standout newcomer to the downtown Phoenix culinary scene. The restaurant's vibrant decor creates a lively atmosphere that guests of the hotel and locals enjoy.

Since spook season is year-round in Arizona, the Arizona Office of Tourism released the Spooktacular Arizona: Haunted Attractions Passport which connects families and thrill-seekers with dozens of haunted places and attractions, seasonal events and historical destinations. After signing up for the free digital passport at SpooktacularAZ.com, passport holders can win prizes by checking into attractions they visit and sharing their experiences on social media with the #SpooktacularAZ hashtag. 

The New Copper Corridor Crawl Adventure Passport 

The free mobile Copper Corridor Crawl Adventure Passport inspires travelers to explore local businesses and attractions in Superior and neighboring small towns in south central Arizona comprising the Copper Corridor region. When making stops along the passport, visitors can earn points toward prizes and enjoy discounts at local restaurants, boutiques, cafes and experiences. Grand Canyon's North Rim Makes Seasonal Transition to Day Use Operations Only 

The Grand Canyon's North Rim has made its seasonal transition to day-use operations only. This means the Grand Canyon Lodge is closed and no overnight accommodations, including camping, are available. Visitors exploring the North Rim should plan to be self-sufficient and bring enough food and water for the day. The entrance gate on State Route 67, which provides vehicular access to the North Rim, will close at sunset on Nov. 30, or after the first major snowstorm prior to that date.

Merkin Vineyard Hilltop Winery & Trattoria Now Open 

Soak in stunning views of the Verde Valley when wine tasting and dining at the new Merkin Vineyard Hilltop Winery & Trattoria in Cottonwood. Encircled by vineyards, guests can enjoy Merkin's award-winning wines that are grown, produced and bottled on-site with fresh farm-to-table cuisine while overlooking Old Town Cottonwood.
