Vialattea, the leading Italian-French international ski region, and one of Europe's largest ski resorts, is delighted to unveil its news and plans for the 2023/24 ski season.

The 2023/24 season in Vialattea will see the introduction of an expanded operating schedule, running for over 120 days across five months, from Thursday 07 December to Sunday 07 April. Those looking to get ahead on their ski pass purchase can enjoy discounted rates until Monday 13 November, with Single Passes available for just EUR 850 until this date, and further discounts available for Family Passes. Full details of ski pass prices for the season, including daily and weekly passes, are now available on the Vialattea website

Considering the ever-evolving climate crisis, Giovanni Brasso, President of Sestrieres SpA, placed significant emphasis on the issue of climate change when unveiling the region's strategy at a press conference in Turin. The renewal of Vialattea's snowmaking network has been completed ahead of the new season, following a EUR 15 million commitment in infrastructure and marketing in the last 3 years alone, showcasing the region's dedication to ensuring continued performance in the face of changing snow conditions.

Technological development in the area has delivered 7,650 metres of renewed ski slopes, with 117 new snow generators capable of producing up to 1,500 cm/h of snow, improving energy efficiency and environmental performance, while also crucially maintaining snow quantity and quality throughout the extended season. Plans for a further 16,000 metres of renewal have also been unveiled, further improving the mountain experience and ensuring the resilience of the area's ski offering for years to come.

The new system has been accompanied by upgraded ticket stations, with the installation of 6 new state-of-the-art 'smart points' across the area, allowing for 24/7, independent, and automated purchasing of ski passes. Access gates for ski lifts have also been upgraded to new-generation smart gates, increasing efficiency and maximising ski time, in addition to delivering real-time updates for skiers on screens at lift entrances.

Alongside these physical upgrades, the region has transformed its digital environment for the new season. From November, visitors will be able to download the new Vialattea Ski App, an innovative technological solution developed in collaboration with leading developer Spotlio Skitude. The app has been designed to revolutionise the way in which Vialattea customers interact with the ski resort, and features a series of advanced functions and real-time services, including:

  • Real-Time Data: Instant and detailed updates on the slope and facility conditions, allowing users to explore the ski area and plan their day on the go.
  • Push Notifications: Crucial information such as weather reports, facility opening/closing hours, safety notices, last-minute offers, special events, and much more.
  • Advanced Orientation: Guaranteed carefree skiing experience thanks to advanced navigation and planning functions.
  • Access to the Vialattea Webshop: Simplified lift pass purchasing with direct access to the webshop. No queuing: just instant fun on the slopes!
  • Tracking of Statistics: Users can record and monitor their activities on the snow and are able to connect directly to the Skitude community, allowing them to interact with skiers around the world.

These investments and improvements promise to deliver a fantastic season, complemented by a regular programme of exciting competitions and events.

Vialattea is a region steeped in sporting history and prestige, and the new season will be no exception. Following the immense success of the World Cup races hosted at Sestriere in 2022, with over 25,000 spectators in the finish area and a TV audience of 65 million, the resort will play host to two FIS European Ski Cup Women's Races on Monday 08 and Tuesday 09 January. Sporting Club Sestriere has also been included in the provisional FIS Italy ski race schedule for two World Cup stages on Thursday 22 and Friday 23 February 2024. The sports season will culminate with the traditional Uovo d'Oro, now in its 41st edition, and the Gran Premio Giovanissimi, featuring over 1,500 athletes and 5,000 total participants, inspiring the next generation of skiing talent in the heart of Vialattea.

For the ultimate mountain experience, look no further than Vialattea this season.
