Located in the heart of Central Queensland, Rockhampton plays host to over 30 major events a year, with the likes of Rare Spares Rockynats, Beef Australia, 7 Rocky River Run, River Festival, Capricorn Food & Wine Festival, Pop Up Polo, PBR Rockhampton Invitational and Barra Bash taking centre stage, attracting visitors from far and wide.

Events play a key role in Rockhampton's visitor economy - in 2023 alone, Council's five major events generated over $7.2 million in direct and incremental expenditure, demonstrating the huge impact our major events have on the local economy with visitors spending money on accommodation, in our cafes and restaurants, on tourist attractions and of course in our local businesses.
