
19 June 2023: Marriott International’s Australian and South Pacific hotels were recognised on an international scale at the Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2023, with 20 rankings across 10 different hotels in 8 categories in Australia and the South Pacific.
In the Australian City Hotels category, four Marriott hotels were awarded including The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hobart which won second place; W Melbourne which was awarded third place; The Ritz-Carlton, Perth in fifth place and W Brisbane which ranked sixth.
In Australian Beach Island Hotels, Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Port Douglas and JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa were awarded third and fourth place respectively.
Four of Marriott’s well-loved hotel pools were awarded in the best Australian Hotel Pools category – including Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Port Douglas which ranked second, The Ritz-Carlton, Perth which ranked third, JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa in fourth place and W Brisbane in fifth. In South Pacific Resort Pools, Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort was also awarded, ranking in fifth place.
Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort was also awarded second place in the South Pacific Resort Spas category, whilst The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort ranked in at fifth place. Both resorts were also awarded in the South Pacific Family Resorts category.
The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort took home the winning title in the South Pacific Most Outrageous Villas category, and Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay took home third place.
Marriott International’s talented General Managers were also highly celebrated with three out of five awarded talent from this category hailing from Marriott hotels – Steve Molnar, General Manager at Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Port Douglas took home the winning title, whilst Damon Page, General Manager at W Melbourne took home second place, and Bernard Langer, General Manager at Sydney Harbour Marriott, Circular Quay, was awarded fifth place.
