Sherbrooke,  June 8 2023 – Our region offers a multitude of things to see and do, themed around attractions such as music, crafts, and gourmet food and right now, every corner of the Eastern Townships is gearing up for a celebratory summer season! A number of festivals are back again this year, supplemented by some that are brand-new…

Festival Au Lac à Granby -

NEW- Shake your body to the pounding beats of rock-punk-heavy metal bands Pennywise, Lagwagon and Killswitch. Daniel Johnson Park, Granby.

 

Vendredi au bord du Pit - June 16 – September 1

Every Friday evening from June 16, enjoy free musical performances at Place de la Traversée in Val-des-Sources, on the site of the former Jeffrey Mine. Porc des Roy, Microbrasserie Moulin 7 microbrewery and the distillerie Birster distillery will provide food and alcoholic drinks.

 

Bromont Folk & Blues - Each Thursday in July

Meet at the public square in Vieux Bromont, the Old Quarter of this bustling mountain community. The eternally popular folk and blues shows are on the agenda and each week, one of the local resto owners will be on hand. From July 6 onwards. A detailed schedule will be available soon.

 

 

Ô Memphré - July 7-9

NEW - Don't miss the first edition of this music festival at Magog's  Pointe Merry Park! During the weekend, well known Quebec artistes such as Vincent Vallières, Fouki and Ludovick Bourgeois will be performing. Food trucks and sales booths onsite.

Omnium du Québec - July 10-16

This is the most prestigious golf tournament in Quebec. Held annually, it is taking place amid the spectacular setting of Château Bromont's immaculately manicured greens. Your chance to see how former PGA Tour winners are doing – Tony Finau, Corey Conners and Taylor Pendrith (to name a few).

 

Bouffe ton Centro - August 5 

Shop till you drop in the stores of Wellington North! Along the way, drop by for a snack or a meal to sample Sherbrooke's  gourmet eateries.  Details to follow soon!

 

 

La Fête des vendanges - September 2,3 & 4 and September 10

20 distilleries, food tastings and a program of live entertainment are all part of the largest wine festival in Quebec, held at Magog's Pointe Merry Park.

  • Sherbrooke t'en bouche un coin – June 8-11 – This is the second edition of the culinary festival that celebrates local products and the know-how of our chefs. It takes place at the Marché de la Gare in Sherbrooke.

 

  • Festival Orford Musique – June 14-August 5 - Head to the famed music academy in Mont Orford National Park to attend the performances given by the outstanding student musicians and other artistes. Some 20 concerts in all.

 

  • Café Fest – July 2 – The 2nd edition of this Magog street festiival, showcasing the best local roasteries.

 

  • Sherblues & Folk – July 4-8 - Once again, this music festival will welcome a lineup of renowned artists such as Vance joy, Les Louanges and Lisa Leblanc who will perform on indoor and outdoor stages in downtown Sherbrooke.

 

  • Soif de Musique July 6-9 - This year, Cowansville presents a great lineup of entertainers – music that appeals to every type of audience. Sean Paul, Simple Plan & Half Moon et plusieurs autres seront du spectacle.

 

  • Festival de jazz de Sutton – July 8-September 2 - Blues and jazz are at the heart of this music fest in Sutton, the 22nd edition of this popular event et accueillera des artistes comme Bogdan Gumenyuk Quartet et Marie-Neige Chatelain Quartet.

 

  • Le Tour des arts – July 15-23 - The 34th edition of this studio tour where the general public can visit the artists and craftspeople at the places where they create (and sell) their work.

 

  • Fête du Lac des Nations – July 18-23 – This year, the 2023 edition at Jacques-Cartier Park in Sherbrooke has a diverse musical program with performances from Shaggy and Sean Kingston to Les Cowboys Fringants and Alicia Moffet, as well as a multitude of family activities, gourmet products and a fireworks display.

 

  • Festival l'Underground Waterloo – July 21-22 - The 6th edition of this “alternative” festival with performances by up-and-coming rock, punk and heavy metal bands.

 

  • Festival des traditions du monde – August 9-13 – Immerse yourself in the cultures of the many peoples from around the globe, who have made the Eastern Townships their home. Singing, dancing, workshops and more than 150 shows! Parc Quintal in Sherbrooke.

 

  • Festival CollineAugust 10-13More than 40 artists and musicians perform for festival goers of every age. It takes place during the height of the Perseids when meteors shoot across the heavens, trailing sparkles across the starry skies of Lac Megantic.

 

  • Festival international de la chanson de Granby – August 10-20 – This popular song contest has launched a number of professional careers and it's a must for those who want to discover new talent. Don't miss the Grand and Jamais Trop Tôt (Never Too Early) competitions.

Tourisme Cantons-de-l'Est (Tourism Eastern Townships) is one of 22 tourism associations (ATRs) in Quebec and the official representative of Quebec's Ministry of Tourism in the Eastern Townships. Since 1978, the TCE's mission has been to promote tourism development, marketing the region within Quebec and internationally. TCE brings together more than 500 members throughout the 9 regional county municipalities (MRCs) and in all sectors of the tourism industry: accommodation, restaurants, attractions, activities and events.

The Eastern Townships is the fourth most popular tourist destination in Quebec. The region attracts some 10 million visitors every year, accounting for 6.5 million overnight stays and spending more than $900 million annually.
