Minor Hotels – Europe and Americas

To celebrate the first departure of Europe's newest sleeper service, The Good Night Train, on 25 May, NH Collection has selected standout hotels for city stops on the pan-Europe route.

Brussels

The Good Night Train's westernmost departure point is Brussels, which British travellers can reach by taking the Eurostar from London. This year the Belgian capital is celebrating 130 years as the founding location of the Art Nouveau movement, with almost 1,000 buildings boasting the splendid facades and sumptuous interiors that are a feature of the style, and a year-long series of events, exhibitions and tours for visitors who want to dig deeper.

Where to stay: NH Collection Brussels Grand Sablon is located in beautiful Sablon Square, close to the city's Grand Palace, Parc de Bruxelles and the luxury shops of Avenue Louise. The hotel's elegant and sophisticated rooms have a contemporary feel, with Premium rooms and Suites overlooking the square itself. The Hispania Brasserie by Michelin star chef Marcos Moran is dedicated to extraordinary gastronomy, serving exquisite Spanish dishes and tapas, while the bar is the place to relax with a choice of Belgian beers, cocktails and wines.

Details: Rooms start from EUR 146 per room per night, nh-collection.com

Antwerp

The sleeper train's second stop in Belgium is Antwerp, which is quieter, but no less dazzling than Brussels. The city has inspired some of history's most famous painters, with the recently reopened Royal Museum of Fine Arts providing an incredible space to view their work. The famous diamond district catches the eye, and there are cosy cafes, trendy boutiques and lively nightlife.

Where to stay: NH Collection Antwerp Centre is a stylish base at the heart of the city, with rooms decorated in chilled beige with wooden accents, a green courtyard designed to offer a relaxed retreat from the city, and a cosy retro-style bar with exceptional cocktails and tapas.

Amsterdam

The third stop for Europe's newest train service is Amsterdam. One of the world's most visited cities, it is encouraging tourists to discover the many cultural highlights in 2023, with unusual museums, vinyl bars and jazz venues among the attractions on offer.

Where to stay: For a five-star stay choose NH Collection Amsterdam Barbizon Palace in the heart of the city's old quarter. The hotel has been beautifully converted from several 17th century town houses and a 15th century chapel, and has its own boating dock on the canal. Guests can relax with a nightcap or bite to eat in the cosy Bottles & Jars Bar or enjoy the haute cuisine of Chef Chris Naylor in the Vermeer Restaurant.

Details: Rooms start from EUR 257 per room per night, nh-collection.com.

Berlin

After the Netherlands, The Good Night Train travels through the night on a 350-mile journey across Germany to Berlin, where guests wake up refreshed and ready to explore. The city is awash with fabulous museums and historic architecture, with NH Collection Berlin Mitte Friedrichstrasse a prime location for visiting sights and shopping areas including Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie and the new Cold War Museum at Unter den Linden.

Where to stay: NH Collection Berlin Mitte Friedrichstrasse has stylish bedrooms and a sauna that are perfect for winding down after adventurous days exploring, while the TASTE! Bar & Restaurant offers everything from typical Berlin street food snacks to delicious haute cuisine.
