The Athens Convention & Visitors Bureau Announces New Beer Trail Trolley Tour

Service operating weekends by Athens Trolley Tours coincides with one-year anniversary of Athens Beer Trail

Athens, GA, October 26, 2022 – In celebration of the Athens Beer Trail one-year anniversary, The Athens Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) today announces the Athens Beer Trail Trolley Tour – a service operated by Athens Trolley Tours and owned by TJ Stephens now providing transportation to the destination's six local breweries: Akademia Brewing Company; Athentic Brewing Company; Creature Comforts Brewing Co.; Southern Brewing Company; Terrapin Beer Co.; and Normaltown Brewing Company.

“Athens has really made its mark as a beer destination in recent years, so we're thrilled to offer this safe and reliable service that caters to our beer-loving locals and visitors,” remarked Katie Williams, CVB director. “We can't wait to see the positive impact it will bring to both our breweries and community as its ridership grows.”

The Athens Beer Trail Trolley Tours run every Thursday and Friday from 3-9pm, with more routes and days to be added in the future. Each individual ticket booked at www.athenstrolleytours.com/beer-trolley-tour/ provides hop on-hop off service for those 21+. Riders can begin the tour in Downtown Athens at The Classic Center pick-up spot or hop on at any point throughout the day at a brewery in-route.

Created by the Athens Convention & Visitors Bureau in 2021, the Athens Beer Trail gives beer lovers the opportunity to visit the destination's six local breweries and discover each taproom's individual approach to craft beer via the Athens Beer Trail Field Guide, available for pick up at any taproom along the trail or at the Historic Athens Welcome Center at 280 East Dougherty St. Once all pages are stamped by each individual brewery, the guide can be cashed-in at the Historic Athens Welcome Center for a commemorative pilsner glass.
