On 20 October, #WorldCalvadosDay is an opportunity for Normandy to honour one of its icons. For the occasion, the Normandy ambassadors' clubs are
mobilising, alongside the distilleries, to celebrate this day all over the world. In New York, London, Shanghai, Dakar or Tokyo, Normandy expatriates and their friends will gather in bars, restaurants or at home to share their passion for Calvados. Photos and videos will be posted on social networks with the hashtag #WorldCalvadosDay!
20 October: the harvest
Established in 2021 by Avallen and the Difford's Guide, this date is above all symbolic. It heralds the peak harvest season in the orchards. This year, Normandie Attractivité, Normandy's promotional agency, and the Interprofession des Appellations Cidricoles (IDAC), which federates the distilleries, are joining forces to give this international day even more importance.
Calvados celebrated around the world
During an aperitif, in a restaurant, in a privatised bar, or at home: 20 October marks the union of glasses and minds in connection with Normandy. With some twenty Normandy clubs around the world, Normandie Attractivité is calling on its expatriates to organise the operation in their respective host countries. Japan, United States of America, United Arab Emirates... find here all the events taking place around the world and their organisers.
And in Normandy?
Normandy, which has nearly 300 distilleries and micro-distilleries, is also called upon to participate in the celebration of this day. With family, friends, ambassadors, colleagues, whether they are Norman or not: everyone is invited to celebrate the spirit, by making a toast and relaying it on social networks. One single hashtag to promote the movement: #WorldCalvadosDay!
