Luxtripper

Luxury tour operator Luxtripper has today named India a flagship destination for 2023, with the launch of seven new itineraries celebrating the country's rich heritage and vibrant culture.

Luxtripper's new itineraries showcase different aspects of India's traditions, scenery and wildlife, creating bespoke experiences that can be tailored to families, couples, solo travellers and groups, taking in the length of the country, from the snow-covered Himalayas in the North to the tropical rainforests in the South. Priced from £2,399 per person, Luxtripper's itineraries include all tours and activities, as well as luxury accommodation and international flights.

Highlights include:

·       Guided cycling tours and train rides around the Himalayan foothills

·       Spotting Bengal tigers, leopards and sloth bears at Ranthambore National Park

·       Ceremonies at Amritsar's Golden Temple, the spiritual hub of Sikhism and visiting the hometown of the Dalai Lama

·       A luxury stay on a houseboat in the bustling waterways of Kerala

·       Cooking classes and food tours in the bazaars and markets of Jaipur

·       A relaxing five-star beach break near the historic ruins and tropical jungles of Goa

With wildlife conservation being a key pillar of Luxtripper's commitment to the planet, a highlight of many of the itineraries are sustainable safaris and wildlife experiences. For example, the Wildlife SOS Elephant Conservation and Care Centre – featured on a number of the itineraries - is India's original centre dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of elephants; for the last 12 years the centre has rescued over 25 exploited elephants, where they now roam free in open grassland.

Nena Chaletzos, founder and CEO of Luxtripper, commented: “India is a destination very close to our hearts at Luxtripper – it's where my parents are from and is home for some of our amazing team. Its landscapes, wildlife and history are only rivalled by the welcoming communities and we're so proud to be making it a flagship destination for 2023.”

The seven trips comprise:

Classic Kerala

Kerala is most famous for its palm tree-lined lagoons, lakes, rivers and canals, known as the backwaters. With a night spent on a luxury houseboat, this itinerary puts travellers in the very heart of the region's waterways.

·       Over 12 nights, the trip explores both quintessential Kerala and its lesser-known spots, such as exotic Merari Beach and remote Periyar Lake, a haven for Asian elephants.

·       Perhaps the most exciting highlight of this 14-night itinerary is a tented suite stay with 4x4 game drive in Jawai, home to India's treasured leopard population.
