This September, Verbier in Switzerland is teaming up with TED Talks to bring the first edition of TEDxVerbier to the resort. The talk, entitled The Context of Connectivity, will be hosted on 3 September 2022 in the Cinema de Verbier, alongside a buffet dinner and drinks. With key speakers, it promises to be an entertaining evening of new ideas, high production values, and concepts with the power to create positive change in the world. The high-profile speakers will explore the connectivity of the universe against the backdrop of the Swiss Alps.
The event will include a wide range of spokespersons including Erik Bethel, global finance professional in both private and public sectors; Geraldine Fasnacht, pioneering freeride snowboarder, base jumper and wingsuit pilot; Professor Daphna Joel, head of the psychobiology department at Tel Aviv University; Rowena Samarasinhe, an international sports lawyer and advocate for sport as a power for good; and Tim Smith, an Open Science advocate who launched CERN's Open Data Portal to share Large Hadron Collider big data with the world.
The talk will be headlined by Bear Grylls, a former special forces soldier and world-renowned adventurer, who has carved out a record-breaking career in television.

When not attending the event, guests can make the most of Verbier and enjoy a variety of summer activities and sports. Head to the Mont 4 and try the world's highest zipline, visit the Verbier Bike Park and try out the new green flow trail or for the more adventurous the more challenging Tzoumaz trail which has a good flow and number of jumps. Those looking for more of a thrill can try the via ferratawhich takes climbers to 3,000m to look out over unbeatable landscapes of the Swiss Alps.
