Sydney, Australia – 19 July, 2021 – Marriott International has appointed experienced hotelier Achim Herterich as General Manager at Sheraton Melbourne, a signature hotel in the growing Marriott International Melbourne portfolio, located in the prestigious Paris End of Collins Street.

An experienced hotelier, Achim is a leader in the luxury lifestyle space and first joined Marriott in 2015 as Executive Chef and then Food and Beverage Manager at Sheraton Melbourne. He joined the opening team at the luxury Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay in 2017 before returning to Australia in 2020 to lead the team at the Sheraton Gold Coast. He has recently relocated to Melbourne, following his post as Hotel Manager at Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Gold Coast.

Achim takes the lead at the Sheraton Melbourne, following the move of current general manager, Peter Minatsis who takes on the role of General Manager at Le Méridien Melbourne which is scheduled to open in 2023.
