Inntravel (inntravel.co.uk), the Slow holiday specialist, can reveal today (5 May) that it is one of just four travel brands to have been shortlisted for the much sought-after accolade of Which? Travel Brand of the Year – part of the annual Which? Awards 2022.

Commenting Simon Wrench, Head of Marketing, Inntravel, said, “As a relatively small Yorkshire-based tour operator, with just 67 employees, we are delighted to be experiencing something of a David and Goliath moment, thanks to Inntravel being pitted in the Which? Travel Brand of the Year against hotel giant Premier Inn, and major household names Jet2 Holidays and Exodus Travel.  Pairing our off-the-beaten-track destinations with small, friendly hotels and detailed cultural route notes is a proven formula, but it is Inntravel's exceptional customer service, of which we are extremely proud, that I believe will stand us in the best stead and help us to clinch the Which? Award.”

With thousands of travel companies out there, it can be difficult for holidaymakers to make a choice. However, when the not-for-profit consumer champion Which? recognises a brand for its quality, the public listens and takes note. The Which? Awards were launched in 2012 to reward the very best businesses in the UK. Each year they publicly recognise those companies that consistently get it right for their customers. Step forward Inntravel who, with a 37-year history, specialise in non-group holidays which combine the unspoiled landscapes of Europe with relaxed activity, whether on foot or two wheels, by train or car, or in the snow.

The winners of the prestigious Which? Travel Brand of the Year will be announced at a live ceremony on Thursday 19 May. The winners, and those shortlisted, are chosen by an expert panel, using a combination of independent research and testing, as well as feedback from Which? members and the general public.

Which? said, “Inntravel is loved by travellers for its exceptionally well-organised walking, cycling and activity holidays. Its entire ethos revolves around sustainable low-impact holidays. It also issued speedy refunds for trip cancellations throughout the pandemic and received the full five stars for its customer service in our survey.”

As well as looking at key elements like product reliability, it was value-for-money that was high on the list of considerations for shortlisting this year, as consumers head into a cost of living crisis.  Currently, Inntravel offers some 293 self-guided holidays offering value-for-money.  Among the best value is:

The Coast of Almería – where the desert meets the sea

Explore the driest, sunniest corner of Europe on this self-guided walking holiday, with luggage transported between three friendly hotels. Discover landscapes reminiscent of North Africa while traversing panoramic clifftops, sandy coves, salt flats and red hills, or relaxing on deserted sandy beaches that promise year-round bathing in Spain's warmest waters. Enjoy the impressive birdlife and excellent fresh seafood at authentic fishing villages.
Price:  Inntravel (inntravel.co.uk) offers the Coast of Almería from £575 per person based on 2 sharing, including 7 nights' B&B, 2 picnics, luggage transported between hotels, walking maps and notes, GPS navigation and 2 transfers to local restaurants for dinner. Flights to Almería cost extra. Return taxi transfers from the airport costs from £64pp.

Last year, Inntravel became the only Which? Recommended Provider 2021 for self-guided tours.  Simon Wrench, continues, “A wonderful boost to all our staff and our suppliers, it said much for their level of dedication and commitment to quality and customer service. We are now keeping our fingers firmly crossed for further success in the 2022 Which? battle of the brands.”
