Travel Yukon has today announced the launch of its new innovative travel planning app, Yukon Sights and Sites. The app has been meticulously developed to provide travellers with an on hand expert travel guide, packed full of essential information on driving routes and points of interest across the Yukon.
Home to 80% pristine wilderness, the Yukon is digital detox territory, with little phone signal outside of the main cities. The app has been designed to operate without network connection, so when visitors head out of phone signal areas, they can get immediate access to insider information to discover the Yukon's most interesting natural and cultural sites.
The Yukon Sights and Sites app includes more than 200 Government of Yukon locations run by Historic Sites, Wildlife Viewing Program and Yukon Parks. The road trip locations showcased in the app will enable visitors to learn more about the Yukon's history, culture and wildlife, as well as find practical information on visiting these camping hot spots and fascinating recreational sites.
Key features of the app include a wish list function where all favourite sites can be saved, a location service search function to show nearby locations and driving distances, a built in map, wilderness tips, and a dedicated section where visitors can plan interactions with the local First Nations communities, so they can share deep traditional and spiritual connections with the Yukon land.
Available in both English and French, the easy to use planning tool is free to download from both the App Store and Google Play.
