South Devon's multi award-winning holiday park, Cofton Holidays, has announced the expansion of its luxury hot-tub lodge collection with the introduction of four new dog-friendly lodges, each just a short walk away from five tranquil fishing lakes and woodland walks.
The launch follows research conducted by the family-run holiday park, which showed that online searches for UK dog-friendly holiday destinations increased by 665% year on year (May 2020 vs May 2021).
Ideal for anglers or those simply wanting to enjoy the sounds of nature, the lodges are just a one-minute walk away from Cofton's popular coarse fishing lakes, and come with a handy utility room for fishing equipment, muddy boots, dog leads and coats.
The decking areas are safely enclosed with one gate at the entrance to the lodge and another separating the hot tub area from the outdoor al fresco dining area.
Dogs are welcomed with a pet mat, blanket, stainless steel water bowl and food bowl, whilst their owners can look forward to the complimentary hamper filled with local handmade treats.
Dogs are catered for at the on-site Swan Inn pub, which serves doggy ice cream and 'pawsecco', while owners can relax and enjoy a selection of local ales, ciders, wines and gins, and a menu of locally sourced dishes.
Each lodge comes with VIP passes to Cofton's heated indoor pool and gym, as well as access to the park's on-site restaurant and an enviable list of facilities, activities and experiences including free daily kids' clubs throughout the school holidays and from Easter to the October half term.
Just a woodland walk away from Dawlish Warren's Blue Flag Beach and Wildlife Reserve, the Kingfisher dog-friendly hot tub lodge collection offers two bedroom lodges from £428 for a four-night mid-week break, £474 for a three-night weekend break, and £651 for a week break. To book, visit www.coftonholidays.co.uk or call 01626 890111.
Offering all the creature comforts, each lodge comes with an open plan kitchen, living and dining area. Here, dog owners can kick back and relax on the cosy sofas whilst their four-legged friends stretch out in front of the wood burning-effect fire.
Together, you can take in The Secret Life of Pets on the wall-mounted flat screen TV supported by fibre internet access and wireless speaker system. Alternatively, you can cook up a storm in the fully fitted kitchen with its stylish island and integrated appliances.
The master bedroom features a luxury king-sized bed with a walk-in wardrobe and en-suite shower room. Kids will enjoy the separate twin bedroom with two single beds and access to the family bathroom, which features a bath and overhead shower.
In addition to free access to the heated indoor pool with a splash pad area and hydrotherapy loungers, guests can enjoy Cofton's award-winning range of facilities including a steam room, sauna, fitness studio, gym, outdoor pools, restaurant, soft play area, playground, sports wall, and much more.
Guests also have access to a dedicated dog exercise field, miles of cycle paths and nature trails that take you through woodland to Dawlish Warren's dog-friendly beach. Cofton also benefits from having the Dawlish Countryside Park right on its doorstep where dogs can run free around its circular walks. Further afield, you can explore the Exe Estuary trail or take amazing day trips to nearby Dartmoor.
Free activities on site include the Woodland Adventure Area which features a 25m zip line, climbing cage, rope ladders, balance beam, balance lines and scramble nets.
Helen Scott, Director of Cofton Holidays, is looking forward to welcoming owners and their dogs to the new lodges: “Lockdown has seen a huge rise in dog ownership, and that's driving unprecedented demand for dog-friendly holidays.
“As dog owners ourselves, we know just how important it is to be able to take your dog on holiday with you. That's why we have gone the extra mile to ensure that Cofton is leading the way in dog-friendly breaks. The introduction of our new lodges is our latest response and builds on our collection of pet-friendly cottages and holiday homes.”
