PRESS RELEASE

THE GAULS ARE BACK AS PARK ASTERIX REOPENS ON 9 JUNE 2021

Parc Astérix is getting ready to open its doors on 9 June 2021. After several months of closure, visitors will once again be able to share the new thrills with their family or friends thanks to the Park's 42 attractions, not forgetting Asterix and Obelix who simply can't wait to see them again. All the teams are being extra imaginative and creative in order to offer visitors even more excitement with complete peace of mind, thanks to even greater health measures throughout the Park and the hotels, in accordance with government recommendations.

A
FUN EXPERIENCE GUARANTEED AS ALL THE ATTRACTIONS WILL BE OPEN

Parc Astérix will open all of its 42 attractions (22 for families, 7 for thrill-seekers and 13 for Young Gauls), the Chronos show: “Magie et illusions” at the Panoramix Theatre, as well as Meeting the characters in the Village Gaulois.

Despite the health situation, Parc Astérix's teams are certainly not lacking in creativity to make sure visitors stay safe, while offering them an unforgettable experience.

A mobile app with new functions has been developed to make the most of the visit, including:

  • A Click & Collect option for the restaurants (except the Relais Gaulois) and sandwich bars in the Park and the hotels
  • Filotomatix, virtual queuing system (a charge applies to this service)

Immersive photo points with specially created scenery to enable the characters

and visitors to remain socially distanced and announcements in the characters'

voices to remind people of protective measures are part of the procedures in place.

Visitors will be able to discover many other innovative ideas to be rolled out once the Park re-opens.

LES QUAIS DE LUTÈCE: NAMED THE WORLD'S BEST HOTEL IN 2020

In 2020 Parc Astérix opened a new 4-star hotel: Les Quais de Lutèce. The hotel offers an unforgettable break in 50 B.C. and has already welcomed over more than 40,000 visitors since it opened. It is a unique place which transports visitors to the world of the comic strip imagined by Goscinny and Uderzo. It was named the best themed hotel in the world by the TEA (Themed Entertainment Association), which recognises major technical or artistic innovations carried out in the leisure industry throughout the world. With its 150 additional rooms, Parc Astérix has increased its accommodation capacity to 450 rooms with its two other hotels, Les Trois Hiboux and La Cité Suspendue.

GREATER HEALTH MEASURES

In 2020, despite the deteriorating health situation, Parc Astérix rose to the challenge of enabling visitors to enjoy unique experiences while guaranteeing their health and safety thanks to effective protocols.

In 2021, the Park's teams have worked to support the organisation in implementing strict measures aimed at the health and safety of visitors and employees without changing the experience offered.

A new reservation system has been put in place to manage visitor number whereby only ticketholders will be granted access. Mask wearing remains compulsory for everyone from the age of 11 throughout the Park and the hotels. Cleaning measures will be intensified to guarantee that the correct cleaning standards and health measures are followed. 900 anti-bacterial hand-gel distribution points are available around the Park and in the hotels. Finally, the use of hand sanitiser will be compulsory at the entrance to every attraction and social distancing will apply between each group of people (friends, families who have come to the Park together) in the queues for the attractions, notably through the use of floor markings and the presence of security personnel.
