The Travel Corporation (TTC) has seen an uptick in travel bookings by solo travellers for 2021, and has decided to highlight its special deals ranging from single supplement discounts to 100% waiver of Single Supplement fees. The attractive savings are offered across selected 2021 itineraries for its guided holiday brands Trafalgar and Insight Vacations and its luxury river cruise brand Uniworld.
Recognizing the need to adapt quickly in a post-COVID-19 world as holiday travel gradually resumes, TTC has also unveiled a new well-being video to help promote further confidence and provide peace-of-mind for guests booking guided holidays with Trafalgar and Insight Vacations, ensuring travellers know that there is a new well-being director who will provide enhanced support to ensure adherence to all hygiene standards and will update them with the latest travel protocols guidelines.
TTC has been an industry leader in creating heightened sanitary measures and physical distancing standards and has collaborated with the World Tourism and Travel Council (WTTC) to co-create its “Safe Travels and Seamless Traveller Journey” global protocols. TTC's comprehensive on-the-road protocols are in adherence with the World Health Organization's (WHO) guidelines, along with existing national and regional government authority regulations.
“We know that many travellers are hesitant to make any holiday plans because of the uncertainty of international travel advisories. We see the opportunity in guided travel because compared to independent travel where one has to figure out all the logistics of travel in this post-pandemic 'new normal', tour companies can offer a stress-free holiday by taking the guesswork out of the equation. We have introduced a flexible booking policy that allows guests to place only a US$99 deposit for our guided tours, and it is possible to make unlimited changes up to thirty days before the trip commences, with the hope that this will help more people gradually ease back into booking their holidays,” said Anthony Lim, President, The Travel Corporation, Asia.
“To attract early bookings, we have waived the solo supplement for selected trips, and some of the destinations that are seeing early recovery for bookings are Mediterranean countries such as Turkey, Greece and Egypt. As part of our commitment to provide each guest a greater sense of comfort and care when they travel with us, we have added the support of a specially trained Well-being Director on every guided holiday,” added Lim.
TTC's Well-being Directors are expertly trained in a three-step approach:
Step 1: Always-on personal support and 24/7 assistance.
Step 2: Supplier partner engagement and compliance.
Step 3: Daily monitoring of distancing and hygiene standards.
The Travel Corporation (TTC) has renewed its commitments to Make Travel Matter with the launch of a new, five-year sustainability strategy to address both the environmental footprint and the community impact of its business and operations. Entitled How We Tread Right (HWTR), TTC has anchored its sustainability goals to the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development (UN SDGs) and is gradually adding Make Travel Matter experiences to trips with goals addressing sustainable food production and responsible consumption, as well as diversity and inclusion.
Some trips to consider for 2021 with 100% waiver of the single supplement are:
Insight Vacations' “Treasures of Turkey” (15 days, prices from USD2,695 per person)
Famed for its ancient wonders and magnificent ruins, including those of Troy and the splendours of the Ottoman Sultans, Turkey is ideal for those with a thirst for knowledge. Gain access to exclusive experiences like visiting a local in their cave house in Cappadocia and learn more about their life there. Insight has added a Make Travel Matter experience to this trip that supports a UN SDG Gender Equality goal that will visit an Anatolian restaurant that helps empower village women by providing them with jobs. A trip highlight will be an overnight stay at Pamukkale where its resplendent mineral-rich hot springs are the ultimate treat to relax and rejuvenate.
Trafalgar's Best of Greece (8 days, prices from US $1,850)
With non-essential travel allowed for visitors from Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and UAE, Greece will be a top destination for travellers from these countries for 2021. A dream destination for many, Greece has lots to offer from its turquoise waters, beautiful sunsets, and its reputation as the ultimate foodie destination! From the other-worldly clifftop Meteora monasteries to walking the Sacred Way as the ancients once did in Delphi, this journey back in time will bring centuries of history to life.
Uniworld's Splendours of Egypt & the Nile (14 Days, prices from US$5,999)

An enchanting land of marvels, myths, and wonders old and new, Egypt is an extraordinary destination no culturally curious traveller will want to miss.
