Park City, Utah ‐ What's New for Ski Season 2020/21

Just 35 minutes from Utah's Salt Lake City international airport, the ski town of Park City www.visitparkcity.com , home to two world class ski resorts, continues to build its stature as a premier wintersports destination. Although UK-USA travel is something of a challenge during the prevaling health crisis, the show must go on, and there is plenty of innovation to be unveiled this season.

Yotel Pad, Canyons Village at Park City Mountain

YotelPad is the latest brand offering from Yotel, the brainwave of YoSushi founder Simon Woodruffe, a British entrepreneur. YoPad Park City is the company's first project in a ski resort. Located just a short walk from the skilifts at Park City Mountain's Canyons Village, YoPad brings an innovative lodging style to the world of skiing.

The property consists of 144 cabins (condos) or YoPads where space is used with supreme effeciency and the use of technology is at the forefront of each unit's functionality. Social spaces include the Backyard where guests will find a swimming pool, hot tub and firepit among other amenities. Further social spaces include the Club Lounge, Fitness Room,Teen Lounge and Kids' Zone. 

Goldener Hirsch Residences, Deer Valley

The Goldener Hirsch Inn has for many years been a hallmark of luxury at Deer Valley's Silver Lake Village. Famous for its persoall service, fine dining and proximity to the ski lifts, the Goldener Hirsch name is about to be expanded with the opening of the Goldener Hirsch Residences. It is likely that these forty luxury dwellings – ranging in size from studios to four bedroomed homes – will be the last development at Silver Lake Village for many years.

Connected to the Goldener Hirsch inn by a bridge plaza, guests can use the facilities of the Inn when required. The guest amenities of the residences are impressive, not least of all the rooftop swimming pool and hot tub. In addition there is a fitness centre with spa treatment rooms, an apres ski bar, on-snow ski storage, underground valet parking, concierge and lobby check in.

AC by Marriott, Park City

AC are the initials of Spaniard hotelier Antonio Catalan who was the founder of this brand of Marriott. The European heritage echoes through the design of each hotel blending with local touches, such as local artwork in public spaces. This is the first AC by Marriott hotel in a ski resort, other than trendy Baqueira-Beret in the Spanish Pyrenees.

With a total of 100 guest rooms, the hotel is located at Kimball Junction, just 30 minutes or so from Salt Lake City airport, The comfortable hotel room are spacious and well equipped. Amenities include an indoor swimming pool and whirlpool, fitness room, bar and daily buffet breakfast.

In other news a brand new Salt Lake City International airport opened in September 2020. At a cost of $2 billion, provided by private investment, this was the fiirst major airport opening in the US since Denver International Airport in February 1995. It has never been difficult for international passengers to pass through Salt Lake City airport, but now it has become even easier.

The 2020/21 ski season proposed opening days will be on Novermber 20th at Park City Mountain Resort and on December 5th at Deer Valley resort. Safety protocols are in place both on and off mountain.
