Calling all Liverpudlians! A brand-new immersive adventure trail has come to the city.
Treasure Trails has created an exciting, social distancing-friendly Treasure Hunt trail to safely explore the hidden gems and history of Liverpool's Albert Docks and Pier Head area.
Costing just £9.99 for a family or small group, the new trail guides you around secret, quirky parts of Liverpool you've never seen – or noticed – before. Along the way, be immersed in stories of your city's history as you crack clues set on permanent features such as sculptures, signs and monuments, before solving the mystery at the end of the route.
The self-guided 2.25-mile circular trail takes around 2.5 hours to complete at your own pace, beginning at Keel Wharf and journeying through Liverpool's historic streets and waterfront. If you complete the quest, you'll be entered into a £100 monthly draw!
The trail is outdoors and can be done at any time of year, making it the perfect responsible adventure activity for families and small groups of friends to enjoy during the current pandemic restrictions.
There are over 1,200 Treasure Trails across the UK and three themes of trails to choose from: Treasure Hunt, Spy Mission or Murder Mystery.
The new Albert Docks and Pier Head trail joins three other Treasure Trails in Liverpool that explore different areas.
- Liverpool - Home of the Beatles - Starting on Gower Street, this Murder Mystery Trail incorporates places frequented by The Beatles as you uncover the city's musical heritage and use your sleuthing skills to crack a fictional murder case.
- Liverpool Mini Trail St George's Hall - Starting at Saint George's Place, this short circular Treasure Hunt Trail comprised of picture clues is set entirely around the stunning St George's Hall and St John's Gardens. Perfect for if you have less time to play with.
- Liverpool - Lime Street & Beyond - This Spy Mission Trail starts at the iconic Lime Street Station in the heart of Liverpool, before exploring the area around William Brown Street and the heart of the city's museums.

Albert Docks and Pier Head Trail information:
- Please note: this particular route involves steps, which doesn't make it wheelchair or pushchair-friendly.
- The trail passes through a busy area, and there may be some clues set in spaces where dogs are prohibited, so we don't recommend bringing your four-legged friends along.
- There are some fantastic events in Liverpool's calendar, all of which are great times to visit this beautiful city. However, you may find that some of the clues on this Trail may become obstructed or difficult to access on these occasions. If you would like further information about event dates, please contact Liverpool Tourist Information.
- There are public toilets available at Liverpool One (Clue 07), with lots of shops and cafes here too. There are great picnic spots in Chavasse Park and on the waterfront.
- The closest long stay pay and display car park to the Trail start point is at Albert Dock, just a minute walk away. Or Liverpool One bus station is two minutes away from the quest start point.
This autumn, Treasure Trails is partnering with the British Heart Foundation to help fight heart and circulatory disease, and will be donating £5,000 of proceeds each month to the charity.
