Son Brull Hotel & Spa, Mallorca

Mallorca's Son Brull Hotel & Spa is open once more and welcoming guests to back its slice of rural bliss after the necessary closure of hotels since March.

Set in the foothills of northern Mallorca, the magnificent honey-coloured property was originally built as an 'alqueria' (an Arabic farmhouse) in the 12th century during Mallorca's Arab rule, before housing a Jesuit monastery in the 18th century. Today it is run by the proudly Mallorcan Suau family as a beautifully designed countryside hotel and spa, with the property's unique architectural heritage complemented by a distinctly contemporary aesthetic.

What's new?

A word on general hotel changes

All services at Son Brull are fully operational, including both restaurants, spa, gym, tennis court, yoga classes and the swimming pool. The hotel takes the health and wellbeing of guests and employees extremely seriously and has implemented a meticulous hygiene plan that allows these services to be offered as safely as possible. Some of the changes include the provision of masks and personal hand sanitiser for every guest, full breakfast table service replacing buffet items, a pre-booking system for those that wish to use the gym, PPE provision for staff, and cashless payment throughout the property.

More flexible reservations

Son Brull has made guest reservations more flexible to accommodate the needs of the current time. For new reservations, no deposit is required at the time of booking, and up until 7 days before arrival date, no penalty applies in case of cancellation. Guests wishing to change the date of their stay can also do so with no penalty.

New experiences

There's a host of fun new experiences for guests to enjoy this summer, including -

New private BBQs

A next-level private BBQ experience in the Son Brull grounds. Whether it's a vegan or vegetarian feast, or something to tantalise seafood-lovers and carnivores, Son Brull's chefs will create a bespoke, private al fresco lunch or dinner sourced and cooked over charcoal to order. Available to book every day at 8pm.

Honey collection from Son Brull's hives

Join the Melvici Project, set up by two beekeeping friends who wish to re-populate the bees on Mallorca and are producing local honey with Son Brull. The two beekeepers will share their wealth of knowledge with guests as they collect honey from the hotel's very own hives. Available monthly.

Summer seasonal spa ritual

Son Brull Spa has a new Summer Ritual available throughout July and August. A revitalising experience using the fruit of the local prickly pear, essential oils and aloe vera to bring freshness and hydration. The ritual includes exfoliation and pricky pear fruit body wrapping, moisturising facial and a revitalising full body massage.

About Son Brull

Accommodation is contemporary, airy and understated - a total of 23 individually-styled rooms and suites, and four new standalone Villa Suites are meticulously decorated with hand-selected furniture and art work with a focus on sourcing from Mallorcan craftspeople. Every room is different, and may include original wooden beamed ceilings, free-standing tubs and stunning valley or vineyard views. Each is fitted with Bang & Olufsen TV and audio systems, individual wi-fi and natural bathing products made by Son Brull using locally grown oranges.

The renowned Restaurant 365 is undoubtedly one of the finest organic restaurants in Mallorca. Ingredients are sourced from the hotel's very own organic plot or the island's  sea and mountains to create innovative and delicious dishes. The modern Bistró serves light, Mediterranean-style dishes with a twist, as well as tapas, sandwiches and salads with ingredients often freshly picked from Son Brull's organic garden. Spectacularly set in an 18th century olive mill that remains unchanged since first used by the monks, the charming Son Brull Bar offers some of the best cocktails on the island, accompanied by a stunning view.

Son Brull Hotel Spa is the only luxury spa in Pollensa. Guests can choose from a wide range of all-natural treatments and seasonal rituals using local ingredients such as the fruit, flower and tender leaf of the Mallorcan prickly pear.

Located in the foothills of the Tramuntana mountains, Son Brull is surrounded by a beautiful landscape, the setting for many adventurous excursions, from cycling and hiking through picturesque nature trails within the UNESCO Heritage park, to canyoning in the nearby river. Son Brull offers complementary electric bicycles to guests wishing to venture out and whether on wheels, horseback or two feet, the hotel has expert guides on hand to enable deep exploration of Mallorca's hidden gems.

Nightly rates at Son Brull Hotel & Spa start from £215 including breakfast, based on two sharing a Superior Room.
