GRID Magazine has appointed Nina Unlay as its new Editor-in-Chief, beginning July
2020. Unlay takes over from founding editor Kristine Fonacier.

Unlay began her magazine career with GRID, first as an editorial assistant, before
stepping into the role of Features Editor in 2017. She took a hiatus to pursue a Master's
Degree in Journalism under the Erasmus Mundus program at Aarhus University and City
University of London.

“During her career at GRID, Nina has written and produced some of the most memorable
stories we've ever published. Few people have managed to grasp the GRID ethos so
thoroughly, and translated it into real work so well as she has,” said Kristine Fonacier of
the appointment. “We are convinced that Nina Unlay is the right person for the job, and I
am personally looking forward to seeing GRID under her creative leadership.”

“Working for GRID has been the highlight of my career so far. I feel very lucky to have
found a team with this much talent and heart, and I'm honored to be leading them,” said
Unlay. “It's a tough time for travellers, so more than ever our role as a travel magazine
requires thought and purpose… as well as the stories we tell, and how we choose to tell
them.”

GRID Magazine's newest issue, Vol. 09: One Day in the Philippines, will be released in
July 2020. For the first time, an online issue will be available for purchase along with a
print copy to be delivered to customers.
